What are your favorite shows from the last 3 years

Title says it all, what are your favorite shows over the last Three years

Few key points

  • Must have started airing in the 2022 Fall Season (Late September ~ Oct) or later
  • Must be either Season 1 or a Standalone Movie* - No season 2 and No Season 1 Part 2 (because that would mean part 1 aired prior to Sept 22, So no Spy x Family)
  • Ideally still be available in the UK either Home Media or Streaming on any platform

*If the movie is part of a franchise. Try and make it either the first thing you would watch, or something you could watch without prior knowledge of the franchise

Why Three years?

A lot of threads are "Whats your favorite show of 2023" or "Whats your all time favorite show". Either very restricted or very broad. Three years gives a pretty good idea to anyone coming into anime what are some recent shows to check out. And more importantly its very likely they will be easily available on either streaming or bluray

Yatagarasu: The Raven Does Not Choose Its Master
Raven of the Inner Palace

Those stand out far above the rest of the stuff that I've watched in the last few years, I think (hope I didn't forget something massive). There are some recurring themes.

Shout out for Cyberpunk Edgerunners as the show I most think folk ought to see from that period, but Akiba Maid War is both the one I think is most likely to be overlooked, and also my outright favourite. ‘What if maid cafes were run like the Yakuza’ seems like the sort of mad premise usually only seen as a side quest for Kazama Kiryu, but I think there’s a real charm in the show’s absolute commitment to the bit.

Honourable mentions also to The Fable as another entertainingly tongue-in-cheek crime story and Delicious in Dungeon, which went to some odd places, but was probably the show I most looked forward to from week to week.

Edit: On closer inspection, Edgerunners predates the Autumn 22 season by about a fortnight…
 
I'm a bit behind, so a lot missing from the last year no doubt and from the year before I've been a lot more selective, so possibly missed something that I might have clicked with that others haven't, but anyway these are the shows I gave 8 or 9 on MAL (9s marked as so):

Mostly big shows, but a few smaller ones too.

Of the smaller ones below 200k on MAL (not including Witchy Gundam, I assume a lot didn't try it due to it being Gundam, but it's stand alone) depends what you like:

  1. Do It Yourself!! is a CGDCT at DIY club
  2. Mononogatari is supernatural (Japanese) action show
  3. Undead Murder Farce is a supernatural (mostly Western) mystery show set in the Victorian period
  4. Train to the End of the World is a CGDCT/adventure show with some trippy events
  5. DEAD DEAD, etc is hard to explain. A sci-fi drama with humanity facing apocalypse SoL sort of thing. Had an odd release and only has just over 60k on MAL.
  6. Mayonaka Punch is a comedy where vampires do YouTube.
