That’s what I thought. I was hoping to be able to continue collecting English friendly releases of Detective Conan since Discotek stopped, but I guess that’s another pipe dream.
I own the Japanese release of Devilman: Crybaby and the upcoming Anime Limited set looks to be mirroring it. I can assure you it’s likely going to be an oversized box set.
I didn’t have high hopes things were going to change, but I couldn’t help checking either. There’s simply no way to predict what things are going to look like as America takes a gigantic leap backwards. It’ll be interesting to see how this affects Anime Limited doing business in the US moving...
The licenses for Dear Brother and The Rose of Versailles are almost certainly expensive compared to EX-ARM. I guarantee you AL licensing the latter has no affect over them picking up the former.
I can confirm Anime Ltd. never released The Ancient Magus' Bride. That would have been Manga Entertainment for the two parts (1, 2) releases and Crunchyroll for the complete series collection. The OVAs are included in the Part One set and also the complete series collection.
Finally, got some confirmation regarding the US release.
All the Anime: “We'll also be releasing this film in the US - we'll share more details once we have them!”
Okay, but that doesn’t answer my question. The early bird is available now for City Hunter: Angel Dust, but there’s still no mention of a physical release for NA.
@Hanners
I know Anime Limited previously announced having theatrical rights in North America for City Hunter: Angel Dust, but do they also have the physical media rights too?
