The short answer is Crunchyroll hasn’t been too interested in re-releasing their back catalog in North America unless it’s a Dragon Ball or Yu Yu Hakusho.
It’s mostly just been Germany or Spain putting classic 2000s anime on Blu-ray.
I’d say the ball’s in your court if you want to be the first...
While losing the free international shipping is a bummer, at least I don’t have to hit the £100 threshold (not that it was terribly difficult to do) anymore. I’ll just have to be more selective with future purchases and probably lean on Anime-on-line more often.
I get that desire, but I doubt Crunchyroll have any intention of letting them go. The Blu-rays are still available to purchase in the UK too, so it's not like they're OOP or anything. I think it's high time someone jumps on a series's follow up before CR does again.
I love Beautiful Bones too...
You’re right. I forgot it’s only been two years since Succession premiered on Netflix. Plus, there’s Great Pretender around the corner. What do you guys think the chances of Anime Limited licensing JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind and Stone Ocean are?
Succession isn’t necessarily bad, it’s just incomplete. I’m happy it’s still getting a release because that means there’s still hope for other Netflix Originals to get the ol’ license rescue once they’re rights have expired (unless it’s Aniplex.)
I’m quite pleased to see Rental Magica getting...
Oh, I’m aware of why it’s happening. I just think it’s incredibly funny that To the Abandoned Secret Beasts isn’t blocked though it’s also available for pre-order in the US too.
While I know there are some folks who are not particularly happy with Anime Limited’s latest announcements, I do think it’s a good thing they’re seemingly licensing so much. Unlike Crunchyroll, they are releasing a good amount of titles on physical media. I think it’s very important to support...
I'm in the same boat as you. I placed an order on the second day of the sale for eight titles listed as in-stock. It's been just a little over two weeks since then and my order remains unfulfilled. In past sales, they've usually been pretty good about shipping an order 1-3 days later, so color...
How Do You Live? a.k.a. The Boy and the Heron internationally, is Hayao Miyazaki’s 12th feature film and easily his most personal. A semi-autobiographical coming-of-age tale about devastating loss and what comes after. A beautifully languid picture that is also borderline an art film however...
Actually, Air on Blu-ray is absolutely a thing that exists in Japan. Only the 2005 movie that was directed by Osamu Dezaki doesn’t have a Blu-ray release.
(P.S. not my image.)
