UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

I thought The Anthem of the Heart was a great film, in fact so great that I purchased the Japanese LE so i'll be passing up on the UK release ( ̄▽ ̄)... Anime Limited made good use of the artwork assets from the Japanese release though! Even if i'm not buying it I still feel a bit for those of...

Upcoming UK Anime Blu-ray & DVD Artwork

The unfortunate situation with Miss Hokusai is indeed a very unique one and I have strong doubts that reauthoring and reprinting would be able to reel in enough extra customers to make equal or more economic gain as opposed to releasing as is now planned. Though something to think about is the...

Upcoming UK Anime Blu-ray & DVD Artwork

I'm unsure of which assumption of mine you're refering to, but i'd be interested in seeing some figures, but make no mistake i'm certainly not doubting you as anime in the US has become much more widely available in the past couple of years with major streaming outlets, i.e Netflix and Hulu...

Upcoming UK Anime Blu-ray & DVD Artwork

I don't know how Australian companies operate at all so I can't comment much, but doing DVD-only releases (in 2016!) simply because a show has not recieved a dub seems like a good way to deter a great deal of potential customers. How is Madman doing? I haven't heard many success stories from...

Upcoming UK Anime Blu-ray & DVD Artwork

Even if such an assumption turned out to be true I think it'd be equally true that by the time Anime Limited would be able to put their sets on the market much of the interest would've died off, less copies would've been sold and likely a lower percentage of the Ultimate Editions as well. Is...

Upcoming UK Anime Blu-ray & DVD Artwork

It feels like the release of Miss Hokusai is long overdue, and i'd be lying if I said my interest hasn't faded a bit, but i'll still be picking it up. If Anime Limited had waited even further just to include a dub i'd certainly not be buying it. Having that said it looks like a very nice...

That Outlaw Star release is just what i've been craving. Haven't bought an AL release for many months now as it seemed quite a few were just Funimation products but you can be sure i'll be pre-ordering this set as soon as it's up on Amazon \(^▽^)/ Also very surprised at that price, i'd figure a...

UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

I hope Steelbooks won't become any kind of standard for Anime Limited as i'm a much bigger fan of the traditional art box releases. Though for titles that for some reason would only get a barebone release, like in cases where you are not allowed to access any extras materials or re-releases of...

UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

It's nice to see such a massive title get licensed by Anime Limited. Though I was secretly hoping that it would be a Spice and Wolf UE *winks* However, since my interest lies in Brotherhood this likely won't be a pickup for me. I do wonder whether they'll create their own discs from the...

UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

I can't see how low price/high volume will work in the long run either, seeing how it's a an already small market that's been dwindling for quite some time now. But i'm not saying either or, rather than that I think it could be better to do an initial release for fans who wants an earlier...

UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

If fans aren't able or willing to see it from a company's or an industry perspective they shouldn't be upset when shows are DVD only or not not released at all in the UK despite being released in other markets like Australia or the US. Getting your money's worth is important of course, albeit...

According to what he said the most successful releases seem to be the pricier ones. And like you said, the Vividred Operations DVD which was cheap compared to the Aniplex standard was a poor seller. They had a few other releases like that but stopped doing them, most likely because they weren't...

UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

Well from the looks of things Aniplex of America are doing quite well, I remember seeing that just one volume of their SAO releases sold over 5000 copies which is a lot considering that the first series is divided into 4 different sets which have a store price of $90 each I think. I think it was...

UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

The UBW boxes sold 30k+ copies each in Japan with those prices so the price model seems much more viable than absurd. Usually i'd say that we should be happy that the Japanese put their money where there mouth is and basically end up fueling high quality productions like Fate/Zero, but this time...

It's not strange that the UK and Australia would have to wait since they will most likely release a significantly cheaper version. The Japanese UBW box 1 costs about $290 on Amazon Japan while the Aniplex of America version costs $180 on RightStuf and they had to wait 5 months to release their set.
