Do AL send things by Yodel nowadays?

I've got a Yodel email to say something is coming for me today and I'm:

1) scared because it's YODEL

B) confused because I'm only expecting a parcel from AL and one from somewhere else and the other place never uses Yodel (and I can't get any sensible matches by Googling the company name from the email)

Lol! Yodel are the worst!

I had a parcel from AL this morning and it was delivered by Royal Mail

Why didn’t I think of that?! 😅

It’s a Royal Mail tracking number (and so is the one from that other site I mentioned) so I’m very confused! I’ve obviously bought something and completely forgotten about it - I’ve combed through my emails and I’ve got no idea! 😵‍💫

Not that I need it as I've got loads to watch, some of it is even not anime but my item got posted on Monday afternoon and I'm still waiting. Some might think that is not long. And that's why I limit my online purchases. HMV handed me my purchases immediately. 😇
I always want the New thing!

Maybe just spam? Scammers are probably sending more fake courier emails at this time of year because they know everyone is waiting for deliveries from sales, Christmas shopping, etc.

I would love Anime Limited (or any English licensor, really) to release the entirety of Bakuman on Blu-ray.

I wonder what the licence situation is with that. I remember seeing a DVD release ages ago, by Kaze? Regardless, if it were to get released, it would be a day oner for me.
Wasn't the first series one of those Kaze titles where the subtitles were absolutely rubbish?

If anyone is looking for movie recommendations in the BOGOF offers though I'd highly recommend any of these:
  • A Letter to Momo
  • A Silent Voice
  • Anthem of the Heart
  • Belle
  • Blue Thermal
  • Case of Hana and Alice
  • Goodbye, Don Glees
  • Harmonie
  • Hula Fulla Dance
  • INU-OH
  • Liz and the Blue Bird
  • Lu Over the Wall
  • Lupin III The First
  • Night is Short Walk On Girl
  • ON-GAKU: Our Sound
  • Patema Inverted
  • Pompo the Cinephile
  • Promare
  • Tokyo Marble Chocolate
Some really good titles that you can pick up for cheap.

I don’t know about the UK, but according to John Sirabella from Media Blasters, Bakuman flopped hard in the US on DVD.

I did a little research, and yeah, I read about Media Blasters releasing it in the US, they only did one DVD release of the first 7 episodes. I also saw there was a release of the first season two seasons on Blu-ray in France in 2013 and the first season on Blu-ray in Germany in 2021.

It's a shame it flopped in the US, I suppose that it makes it less likely for an English licensor to pick it up. I wonder why it didn't do well. I believe the manga did relatively well, as it got a VIZ manga box set, which only popular series get.

And to be fair, Media Blasters released it back in 2011, I wonder if there's an argument that the market is completely different now and so it may do better (i.e., manga is a lot bigger in English-speaking countries than it was back then, so perhaps a show about two guys making manga would attract more people!). Who knows.
