Yep, you're right. The spliced FB2012 footage is worse than the rest. Watchable but not as sharp as the rest of the movie. The DYRL blu is stark contrast to the first time I saw the movie, on VHS! Did you ever see Clash of the Bionoids? I had that version on VHS as well. Terrible, although amusing in hindsight. 30+ minutes were cut from DYRL which led to a number of issues, the worst being that the last time you see Hikaru is just before he blasts Bodolza. Que explosion and then you don't see Hikaru again thus giving the impression that he died!

I love the new, post series content in FB - the whole Megaroad-01 launch was originally intended to be shown at the end of the TV series, but they ran out of time and cash. Got there in the end though.

Given that the majority of FB's content is taken from the series and DYRL I had played around with the idea of ripping those scenes from the respective blu rays and overlaying the soundtrack to give a better version, but when they started merging in some real world archival footage in I figured that that together with the original content just made it not really worthwhile.

Although, I do agree, the 'rougher' footage on the FB blu does have a charm to it, and as you said, the film itself is still great! :thumb:
