In Japan, every sexual fantasy or fetish has its outlet.

From so called image clubs where men can pretend they are in a train groping fellow passengers, and the "maid cafes" where clients are served and called "master" by girls dressed in French maid outfits, to a magazine dedicated to silicon "love dolls", the streets of Tokyo hide an incredible variety of business catering to sexual desires.

Japan is a country of apparent contradictions. Japanese people have very formal work and interpersonal relationships.

On the other hand, there is an extremely kinky underground world.

Are these two spheres of Japanese society really as different as they seem? Or is one the direct consequence of the other?

Reporter Ilana Rehavia set out on a Japanese adventure to find the answer and understand what is really behind this intricate and highly specific sex industry.

Well, you can't deny it's not out there, but this won't be good for Japan's reputation. I think it'll go under the radar though.
 
I'm pretty sick of all this biased reporting. If I didn't know any better I would almost think the mass media didn't want us to like Japan. Anyone remember the way The Sun covered that woman's death in Japan where the killer put her in a bath of sand? Remember all the manga he had and the way The Sun said it was a problem and everything? Pathetic...

Edit: Looking at the first post again it could be that this will be unbiased, but the way they set it up as "Japan is a country of formal work...with a seedy underground fulfilling all their fetishes!" makes it seem biased to me.
 
Pffft... Like a single country in this world is perfect.
I did find something quite funny about the above pic... Is that girl on the right a female Yoh (Shaman King)?! XD

<"maid cafes" where clients are served and called "master" by girls dressed in French maid outfits> - it's hardly a means of fulfilling a sexual fantasy, is it? And most 'maid' cafes don't sink to that level.
 
In FHM about 3 months ago, they did a tour there and managed to get into one of aforementioned 'underground' clubs, and eventually paid a girl to dress up as a pokemon and sit in a cage. :lol:

Guess they held up their end of the deal when they said they'd do 'anything'.
