A number of studios make their releases playable in other regions besides the one stated on the cover.
Sentai makes most of their releases playable outside of America and Warner Bros. does too.
I have a number of WB DVDs bought from America and UK that while they say Region 1 or 2 on the covers, they play perfectly fine here in Australia on standard non-multi-region players.
Does Disney do this as well, especially in UK? They have some DVDs that I'd like to get for my sister but it's hard to know if they'll work fine here.
