what plays ogm and mkv files?

All you really need are the codecs, then you should be able to view them from most players. Do a search for the Combined Community Codec Pack, it's got stuff to play both .ogms and .mkvs in one package, as well as a load of other stuff. In regards to players, I use either Windows Media Player or Media Player Classic, but I know others swear by BSplayer. Up to yourself really.

As Andy said CCCP contains all the codecs needed to get Windows Media Player to play ogm and mkv's. It's what i use for the fansubs.

WMP or WMPC if you like the simple approach, both work for me with no problems.

Hey there, like CCCP my favourite is K-Lite Codec Pack. It comes with Media Player Classic, so if you simply install it, and take all of the defaults, you'll also install a player with all the codecs needed to play your files. Good luck!
