What Manga To Buy??

Hey guys. Im heading up to London next week and figured id treat myself to some manga, since my brother normally likes to get me *something* and I figured, now is the time to pick up some Manga. And well, I was in Waterstones today and saw a TONNE of Manga (Im a n00b at buying manga in store) and i started flicking through all the ones id heard about on the site. The ones that caught my eye were; Hellsing, Claymore and One Piece.
So which do you guys reccomend, I figured you'd know better than me.
(Saying this, im open to suggestions on other manga if you think they will be in the store)
 
Hellsing!!
Very good. Very violent; Lots of blood. Nazis vs. Vampires~ results in a very well written story with excellent art.

One Piece, I certainly preffered the manga to the anime, even though I'm not very far in the manga. Problem is it's length. It's seemingly endless to the naked eye but if you look closely there are 48 volumes in japan 0__0

Never read Claymore.

Personally I would choose Hellsing, but it depends if your into vampires, guns, Nazis, Catholics and a whole lotta blood.
 
Why yes im into Vampires :P Yeah, the sheer length of One Piece puts me off a bit, and id really love some news on Claymore, asI feel sure ive heard good things about it
 
Yep. 9 vol. in Japan~ and in 2006 Hirano [mangaka] said he would finish Hellsing in around 2 years 0__0~~ THE END NEAR!! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES.

:lol: Looks like Hellsing is nice and short then. Whats the lead characters like?? Are they bad-ass?? :lol: I like awesome lead characters :P
 
Just 9 vols.? And ending soon? That sounds right up my ally - it's short, and it actually ends (something very few manga do :/). I think I shall have to purchase a few volumes soon ;]
 
Claymore is on-going and has at least 15 volumes, the manga comes out monthly like FMA, so once Viz catch up, which I think they've already done you're gonna be waiting a while for it all.

One Piece has 49 volumes IIRC, and is still going, it's a good series, but if you want something short, don't buy it.

Hellsing, fairly short series, isn't too long, though I personally didn't like the Nazi storyline was pretty boring and un-inspiring.

I think you should buy Berserk, although it's on-going too, and you might not like it.

Also check out: O-Parts Hunter [666 Satan for the name change purists] & the FMA manga should pique your interest.
 
Hellsing's lead character, Alucard [notice it's Dracula backwards, oh yeah!] is made of awesome. He's about the most 'bad-ass' character you'll find in any manga. And there's Seras, the new vampire who starts off pretty pathetic but even she becomes more and more awesome as she gets in on the fighting.
 
Hellsing went to pot after a few volumes...like seriously stupid. I can't recommend it. The anime was great though.

Claymore is alright, but very serious...I think it's got a pretty miserable vibe around it. I don't really like the art, but it's a decent story...just heavy going.

One Piece is really great, but Viz only release about three volumes a year, which is a nightmare considering the length so far. I really recommend it anyway.

15 volumes isnt too bad I guess, since i may take a while to get them all too it seems good. I read a little part and a review and it did look cool, and I dont mind waiting TOO much.

Il make sure I flick through if it I see it :) Im gonna take some notes on what to look out for with me :)

Sounds brilliant to me :D Il be sure to pick up a volume if its not OVER priced.

Hellsing sounds good from what im hearing, and I still feel Claymore has some charm that makes me wanna read it :) Looks like il ditch one piece. But yeah still, im writting all these down and if I see any of these im definate to check them out

READ IT! Its ultra fantastic mega awesome. Nothing short of a masterpiece. I could rant on about how much you should read this but I'll be annoying myself and everyone else at the same time. There are a few errors in the way VIZ have translated it IIRC (Bounties wrong, etc) It shouldn't affect your enjoyment of the story at all. It doesn't have a end in sight, But really, Its better that way. You can read it at your own pace as well. ;p

O Parts Hunter under VIZ Media, It would have been too risky for them to release a title called 666 Satan. If your in Japan, Its 666 Satan. Its good but its basically another Naruto.. Some slightly better fights and a Satan inside oneself instead of a nine tailed fox.

Overall, One Piece > O Parts Hunter in my opinion.
