Welcome to the NHK! is a (2006) anime series from GONZO about hikkimori; basically people unwilling or unable to leave their apartments and join "normal" society. Through out the series we've seen the characters suffer through episodes of paranoia, loneliness, addiction to anime and even MMORPGs. It's a funny and sad show, yet also quite uplifting, emphasizing the importance of friendship.

The screen-caps below were snapped during episode 23. This is the penultimate episode, and one of the characters are about to try to commit suicide.

I got the whole series from animesuki but have yet to watch any of it, its in my rainy day file

@Outlawstar, as the series isn't yet licenced, you should find it via torrent at scarywater. It may be called "NHK ni Youkoso!" as this is the Japanese title.

Anyone who missed this one should give it a watch, it's great!
