Welcome to the NHK...Cheapest to buy?

Hey guys,

Im wanting to get into this Anime....

First off, is it any good?

Secondly, where is the cheapest to nab it from?!

Regards

Dunno about the cheapest buy, but occasional dips in animation aside it's a great show - worth seeing at least once I'd say.

Think it's only out in R1 currently mind.

There be no cheap way to own it at present. The cheapest American store (without postage) is $34 for each box set, which is over the customs limit, and PlayUSA are selling the sets for £22.99 each, which is also over the customs limit.

If you really want to own it, at present you'll have to take it up the arse from customs. You have to ask yourself if it's worth it.

I got mine from DVD Pacific last December. They're actually cheaper now thanks to the exchange rate. ALthough still around £23 each.

I've been lucky with DVD Pacific and Swedish Post. I've yet to be stung. I took a big risk and ordered the two together to save a few pennies on postage, at about £50, and it got through unbuggered, although that may have more to do with the Christmas rush snowing RM under, rather than any deliberate leniency on their part.

Or you could try Right Stuf, who'll mark down the price on the package if you ask nicely, but you'll still wind up spending so muc more on thing as they are more expensive, that it'll be cheaper to pay Customs.

It really isn't worth paying close to £50 for the series in two cheapo box sets, ignoring the customs risk. If it was the full series in an art box that'd be different, but it isn't - it's 2x 12 episode AL style box sets.

NHK is a top series, though. I was close to rating it 10/10 at one point. I changed my mind when the series went dowhill to a certain extent after the first 14 episodes.

I didn't mind the price, it's a show I would have bought at new release prices in the UK, had ADV not messed up.

What disappointed me was that instead of repackaging the singles, Funimation went for 2-disc sets. I'd have preferred it on 3-disc sets, which they initially said they would do.

I didn't mind it with AMG S2 as they never said otherwise.

Well, i went ahead and bought it off Amazon for 26 quid....Not to bad i thought!

unellmay, i checked out the first couple of episodes on the link ya gave me (thank you!!) and thought it looked pretty awesome!

Thanks for all the input from you guys, Is there anything else similar to the NHK series?
