watching anime alone and together with someone

ok as you know i got my mum in to anime and she enjoys them and i like to watch anime alone.

when i watch something the first-time i do intend to watch it alone first ( death note was the exception because i watched it with my mum) but if i want to rewatch something il watch it with mum and it would be her first-time watching it.

my mum owns a florist and this valentine's day was hard work and she was really busy and staying late to gain time , and im like ok fine, i waited a week and i thought i know she's been tired so il wait monday, and so we was suppose to watch FMA the movie today but my mum didn't look so good and then i though oh no i have to wait another night til she feels better ( i i was frustrated because iv been waiting to finish FMA movie so we can start romeo X juliet,

i know brother hood is part of FMA series as a hole but i want to take a brake from FMA and watch something different like romeo X juliet because its a favourite and i really want to watch it again.

now i know what your going to say - animefreak if you want to watch romeo X juliet then watch it alone,

thing is iv really enjoyed watching anime with someone then alone, yes i did say i watch a series i haven't seen yet alone first but rewatching something with someone feels more enjoyable then alone you know?

do you guys like watching anime alone or with someone more?

how do you feel about it

Much the same, 1st watch I do alone. At least in part becuase you can't always be sure what might happen in some shows but mainly becuase it lets me relax and concentrate on whats happening.

Shows then get split into rewatch at anytime and rewatch solo catergories.

I have invited my bro to watch some stuff but he's oddly not interested despite the fact I know he enjoys various Animes and other Animated shows/films. (and that I offered to let him watch becuase I know it's a title that'd appeal to him)

I lost contact with my friends who liked anime after college and whenever my brother is over for half term he can't sit and watch anime without chatting on skype at the same time and then moaning about how he doesn't understand as he missed all the important bits.....

So, I just watch things on my own. It's easier that way.

Me and my sister (Tanpopo on here) watch some things together. Just depends how keen we both are to see it. Our tastes don't always match up.
I do tend to watch more stuff on my own just because I can stop and start when I feel like it. It's also a bit more relaxing at times too, I agree. Gives you a chance to take everything in and really focus on it.

I watch shows/movies that appeal to only me by myself, however I watch shows that my partner would also like with him. I tend to work during the day (give or take a few night shifts) and him evenings/nights so it tends to work out very well =]

I watch most things on my own to begin with. My best mate likes anime too though so we'll occasionally revisit an old favourite episode of something like Fumoffu if we're round each others places or something. When I hosted a movie night at mine for my university friends, I showed them Summer Wars which brought an interesting mix of reactions for sure. At university I was a member of the Anime Society (elected treasurer in my 3rd year...by default :p ) and the group screenings there were always a lot of fun.

I've also showed my sister a few films like Redline, she loves Ghibli films but I am trying to broaden her range ever so slightly ;) I've left her all my FMA DVDs should she ever want to watch it, that's the series that I've successfully convinced my friends to watch first as a gateway.

But in general, it's solo viewing all the way.

i enjoy company and solitude but it depends,

yes its great when you can watch any anime at your own pace but theres a time when you want to introduce a series thats soooooo good to someone,

sometimes i like the reactions on my mums face
i like how she asks questions
i like how she gets in to anime * not as hard core as me * but watches them non the less,,

i really want her to watch romeo X juliet, and baccano, and the count of monte cristo, these series are brilliant, baccano is in the top 10 of being as brilliant as death note * story wise *

she told me she wanted something like death note and these 3 is what came to mind, yes im aware romeo X juliet is nowhere as great as death note but its a good series * to me * none the less

I usually watch anime alone. Some films at the cinema I have seen with my brother and I have watched the odd show with him over the last few months but he isn't into anime as much as I am so I don't pressure him to watch anything.

I watch most on my own, though I have tempted the other half into watching something with me a couple of times. (She's into certain manga series, so there's my foot in the door, so to speak!).

But, where I prefer watching subs, she'll only watch dubs (and then moan about the voice cast... ) so it can be tricky.

And she'll shout at the telly if a character is too stupid or insipid... poor Kanae (5cm p/s)

I watch nearly everything by myself as no-one else in the house really watches anime.

I have been able to convince people to watch somethings but unless if it's a movie they don't really pay attention.

However, I do watch Lupin the Third with my grandparents (and I even bought them some of the DVDs from the US for them even thought I have copies so they can watch some when they like), they watch it dubbed and subbed when there isn't a dub available. The only time I'll put on an anime that I haven't seen with other people is with them when it's the newer Lupin specials/episodes.

was watch half of the FMA movie tonight, i could tell my mum was getting tired so i said lets stop and watch the rest tomorrow. my mum said before we watched it said why dont we watch all of it tomorrow night so we'll have the tv to our selfs. and im like ok hows about we watch half and watch the rest tomorrow and we did,

il be honest after watching it with my mum i felt the movie was a lil off the concentration of what was going on in the story, one thing was happening and something else popped up ect ect, i thought she was getting bored but she didnt look it,

its fine cause after we finish this film we can move on to the brotherhood series, which is going to be a long ass time to get though, i did offer to say lets take a brake from the series but she said lets finish what we started first, so this must be a sign she want more FMA

I watch most stuff on my own but if it's something I know my other half will like (or One Piece) it gets added to a separate pile and watched more slowly at a rate of one episode per day. Fortunately we both prefer the original language and like the same kind of genres.

Sometimes he says he doesn't want to watch something then suspiciously gets into it anyway and keeps making excuses to hang around. 12 Kingdoms was one of those. He loitered in the living room for days on various pretexts with his eyes glued to the screen...
