Kazé UK have tweeted that their parent company Viz Media Europe has licensed Makoto Shinkai's latest film The Children Who Chase Lost Voices. They also added that it will see a DVD and Blu-Ray release via MangaUK later this year.

Awesome news and all but... Who's Dubbing it?

I assume it will either be Canada or Bang Zoom
Seraphim Digital, (if Sentai Filmworks have it)
STUDIOPOLIS
or
The Ocean Group
(if Viz have it)

seem the good bets.
FUNi might also get it due to media Factory involvement, and they do their own dubs.

Bang Zoom do Bandai Ent. (dead) Geneon USA (also dead), Media Blasters (nearly dead) and Aniplex dubs. and Aniplex didn't make it.

Well, as Viz Media Europe has it, wouldn't it make it more likely that Viz Media America has it?
Nope, they release far, far more than Viz USA does, including plenty that's licensed to others in America.

But it's quite likely, they're still the USA's 2nd/3rd richest distributor and this won't be cheap.

Sentai is suggested because they have good relations to Comix Wave.

I don't remember off the top of my head, but movies aren't as "over-priced" as TV anime, so probably not as much as you're thinking. :p

ok, still is suppose it was a bit too much just for a movie. 8)

Im gonna check the price over the internet.

By thw way, where do you buy your jap dvds?

I got almost everything from Yes Asia because Amazon's shipping and the VAT and import duty wiped out the discount anyway, and at least that way I didn't have to keep traipsing down to the post office.

I guess it depends how many things you buy a month as far as the shipping goes.

YesAsia have also let me down with shipping (either being incredibly slow or not turning up) enough times for me to not trust them with anything of any real note.

YesAsia tends to be slow (although they got faster after they stopped reshipping from Croydon, although with more risk of customs) but I've never had anything not arrive (apart from the one pre-order that somehow ended up unavailable despite still being available on CDJapan...)
