I know it's almost as if MVM know what anime fan want (SIC).

Seriously though, why is MVM still in business when they keep making bad releases that barly play up to thier only strength (in that MVM arn't the ones actauly making the disks)?

I think the Berserk release is ok (for UK buyers) but the rest are a little weak. Hopefully once their current stuff is done they'll start releasing future shows in line with the consumers' expectations in this new market and give us something to get excited about again.

And hey, where's your party thread now the Frog is finally coming to R1 intact? :)

How do you know it's the "old" Berserk boxset?

Because I am in fact a genius.

Either that or I'm aware MVM have released the old editions in the UK and this is a box set containing all those releases.

MVM made a good move by licensing Berserk. It's just a shame they left it a few years too late, and also made it worse by taking forever to get all the releases out of the way in order for the box set to come last. A cheap, 'remastered' R1 set was released months ago, yet we won't even get an over-priced box set containing the old releases until July.

I once thought that MVM licensed quality content for the most part and were wise, but they're more along the lines of a Geneon clone. As cruel is it sounds, I hope they go the same way, making way for Manga to license and release the good series MVM would've otherwise gotten for themselves - that way I'll get quality content for reasonable prices. If not for MVM, there's a chance Manga would've picked up RxJ, it being a Funimation llicense that's getting released in two parts in America.

If you haven't heard of Berserk, you have a long way to go.

If monster rape is your thing, you'll love the manga. In Miura's fantasy world, all monsters are endowed like horses and enjoy nothing more than sexually assaulting human women.

If you don't like monster rape, you'll at least like the anime, which instead focuses on lots of people getting killed. I rated it 10/10.

As you'll discover by following this link, Berserk is not rated highly and hasn't been read by many.

Hrm, I'm gonna have to get used to that sarcasam, got me quite confused for a minute there. ^^'
Looks pretty good! *adds it to the long list of things to watch/read*

Has Miura stopped playing Idolmaster and typing insightful streams of 'wwww' yet?

I require a translation. I am not not 'l33t' enough to understand the above sentence.

I don't follow the Berserk manga. I tried reading a few of the volumes after the eclipse but was unable to get into it - it was too different from the story of the anime. If I could read physical copies of all the volumes, then maybe I'd have more motivation, but that isn't possible when I'd need to pay around £8 per volume.

"wwww" is the Japanese equivalent of "lol", only the "w" is equivalent to the "l" (from the word for laughing 笑 which starts with that sound) and the number of "w"s used roughly relates to how funny something was according to the typist.

You get into the habit of joining in if you spend much time with the Japanese version of leetspeakers. In FFXI my groups peppered almost every sentence with it.

Thankfully with Berserk my husband is hooked on it so I get all the benefits of collecting it myself without paying for the books directly :)

I know that "www" = lol in Wapanese. I was taught when I played with some on FFXI and attempted to pull enemies as a PLD with flash. I did, however, think that jailbait meant the internet address type of www, her being English and all.

I've been on Nico Nico. I've saved the video of Light playing Mario, complete with lots of 'wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww' streaming across from the left.

And, unless you show me photographic evidence to support your claim, I can't help but assume you're trying to add years to your age on your MAL profile. I'm sorry. Like Roy is Roy, Jailbait is Jailbait.

You couldn't pay me enough to own it, Samurai Deeper Kyo is bloody awful.

Well IIRC he bought himself a 360 for the game, lol. I expect Miura to get Monster Hunter Tri- on the Wii along with his BFF Yoshihiro Togashi.

But yeah, he's been done a while, quite a few Berserk chapters have appeared which are EXTREMELY epic and a lot of big things have happened which will alter the fate of Berserk's world completely.

Nice to see a Berserk boxset, I love the manga but haven't watched much of the anime - I'll definitely be on the look out for it.
