Two Questions

First Question - Do you get import fees from All your music on amazon or do they mark it under the import limit?

Second Question - If I order of Up1 USA how much will I be charged for paying in USD I am with Lloyds Under 19s account

1. Seems to be down to luck. You could always ask them, though technically even if they mark it down it's possible for customs to inspect the parcel and charge you anyway if they can see it's a lie.

2. Your bank would be the best one to advise. What kind of card do you have with that account (e.g. Visa Debit, Maestro)?

Another option you might want to consider when comparing is Amazon USA but with the express shipping (there are usually three shipping options and if you see it charging extra for "Import Fees Deposit" then you won't get extra import fees when the parcel arrives). You'll never pay more than the price they quote on the order confirmation and they usually refund part of the fees paid too if they estimated them too high. Also, Amazon.com can charge in GBP if you're worried about unexpected conversion fees. I like to compare the total price in several different places to save a few pennies and sometimes Amazon.com is cheapest even with the shipping/import fee costs :)

Thanks for the reply, this is the first time for me using all your music as a friend of mine ordered from them twice each time the DVDs were about £30 each order and never got no import fees, so I decided to give go and ordered Yu-Gi-Oh season 3 for about £20 total, hopefully they get through.

The DVD I want of Up1 USA is K Limited edition which is about £42, Up1 UK has it as £47 and Amazon.com is about the same price with the import deposit fees, only looking to pay about £40 for it at the moment. I could always go with amazon.com without the import fee deposit with is £36 total but then there's the risk of customs which could end up making it more than the above options.

After a quick google, I've found out that you should be charged a flat fee of £1 for foreign currency transactions, but to make 100% sure you should check the banking charges guide for your account.

I looked my card up when I started to dabble in foreign transactions, I'm with HSBC, and there's a dozen different criteria and none of them actually worked out to be what I actually got charged.

Looking at some recent transactions I was charged about 2.72% by my bank, checking the exchange rate they converted at to the internet shows only a tiny difference so It look's like I'm not getting ripped off there.

A quick look over interest rates since Jan 2014 would suggest we are at a nice high point right now in terms of dollars to pounds, makes me feel better about all those pricey BD sets due soon :)

1. Down to luck. I ordered The Legend of the Legendary heroes part 1 limited ed and it didn't get hit. It even said $35 on the front.
2. I'm with TSB & they charge £1 plus an extra 2.99% for conversion or something. Still works out cheaper than the UP1 uk page.

I'm with TSB as well, and the charges isn't much in comparison to what I would expect (the biggest amount I was charged was about £4 for ordering a bunch of sets together).

Every time I order on UP1USA, the US Price + P&P + TSB Charges end up being the same amount or less than the UK price would be.

Order arrived from all your music with no import fees, they must either ship the dvds from the US to a UK warehouse and then send you the DVD or just ship straight from the UK as mine had been sent from some where in the UK
