Today has finally seen the UK DVD debut of Beez's Cowboy Bebop (Vols. 1 and 2); a seminal science-fiction anime series that has been sorely lacking from the UK for far too long now. Also released today is Galerions: Rion, Revolver Ent.'s angst filled 3D-CG anime.
24th January releases
Cowboy Bebop #1

Cowboy Bebop #2

Galerians: Rion

To view our full, comprehensive UK anime release schedule; please click here.

So has anyone actually received their first and second volumes of Cowboy Bebop yet? I've got the first volume sitting here right now, I want to savour these 5 episodes but then I may just marathon the entire DVD later this evening.

i'm brass at the moment, was considering robbing an old granny to fund my anime addiction as CB is a title I have waited along time for, but my dear mother would never forgive me

*cue slow pace violin music*

but get paid on the 26th so will purchase the first 2 volumes then. :D

I have the first volume of CB!! I coudlnt belive that HMV had it in! Cant wait to see it,though im not expecting it to be as great as all the fan boys say it is ;) :p

It gets even better the longer you stick with it :x

It takes a while to settle into the atmostphere of Bebop, though you should quickly come to love the quirky relationships between the main characters. Jet Black is the unsung hero of Bebop! ;)

By the end, you realize this show is just something special. It's great more UK anime fans will get a chance to see this now.

My one should be here in the morning (cross my fingers) cant wait to get this used to watch this seire on CNX and it pissed me off that it wont out on dvd, sort of didnt make sense. Now its out im over the moon and cant wait to watch it.

Ditto. Jet doesn't get enough love from the Bebop fans... I guess that's the problem when you're the only normal one in a group of extroverts and weirdos - you tend to get overshadowed.

Ditto that. I only recently finished watching the entire series (imported) and by the end you just sit back and think how gret it was. Every episode had...something. Everything about it, the setting, the interesting characters who you come to feel for, the interesting and varied storylines, the music is just really good.

My fav scene is when ed leaves with ein following her sadly making the choice between the bebop and her in ep 24, faye's dejected, spike and jet are also felling sad that the two women have gone, all played out to that song I don't know 'ease my mind' or something. it was genius.

i can do a review for volume 1 if no one else has.

Go for it mate. Though I'm halfway through a review of my own, I'll happily post the better, more cohesive one.

If FullMetal Alchemist doesn't make top 5, I'd be very shocked...

I'm not sure really. It depends on promotion. Apparently it will be on the cover of Neo magazine, but I'm not sure where else it could gather mainstream attention (other than TV). Perhaps fans of the video game will provide a boost too? Unless I've vastly under-rated the size of the UK anime community, I'm expecting it to be a slow burner at first.
