To Aru Kagaku no Railgun

So far, the best new show from the Fall season, for me, so I think worthy of its own thread. ^_^

I am finding the funny bits genuinely funny, and there's some really nice animation to keep things going when it turns to more action-ey bits.

Favorite character so far is definitely Kuroko, her antics with Mikoto are just too funny, and I love both her canned speech patterns (not something I'm always a fan of, it can often seem thrown in just for the sake of it) and especially the voice acting performance she's given by Arai Satomi.

Pretty episodic so far, with small hints of a bigger story that they might tell, although I've neither read the manga nor seen or read anything of To Aru Majutsu no Index so I don't know what direction they'll go in.

Just finished watching episode 5, which felt like a nice interlude, except that, as mentioned, they haven't really started a "main story" just yet, so it felt a bit like an interlude in the middle of nothing in some ways. ^^; Nice character ep though, especially for fans of Kuroko. It was especially funny having Uiharu ball her out for jumping in rashly to apprehend the robbers, I was just thinking "would be hilarious if Uiharu calls her out on this and points out that she was in the right and Kuroko didn't listen to her".

Also, the next ep preview at the end of ep 5 was actually too much, had me in fits of laughter. :lol:

So far only 3 episodes into it, but have to say its been pretty decent so far. Kuroko can be a good laugh i agree, her voice actor seems to do a damned good job of the role. Can't say any of the VA's do a bad job actually, they all seem to work well in their given roles.

As i'm only 3 episodes in, i can't really judge it fairly, but i think, once it gets more into a story arcs it'll certainly pick up a lot. Not to say that the episodic nature so far is a bad thing, it certainly is a good laugh, but i think that it has the ability to get even better in a proper arc.

Am looking forward to the next couple of episodes though i will say, which i intend to work through tonight.

Just watched episode 7.

Pretty cool episode, gave us a continuation of the story about the weird kid and the bombs he's been setting off. Also, between Saten's comments and the title of ep 8 I'm guessing he looks like he's on drugs because *he actually is on drugs* that are levelling his power up.

I think I really could end up liking this show as much as I thought I might after the first episode.

Took me a few eps to realise it more of a prequel but episode 7 was brilliant do you get the feeling Judgement will be looking for Toma soon, I do love the way he keeps popping up throughout this series

Though i watched it at the weekend, i have to say i thoroughly enjoyed episode 7 myself. It just struck me as being better than any of the others because it was connected to episode 6 rather than being of an episodic nature the past few episodes. I have high hopes for episode 8 too, so looking forward to that this weekend.

Also, having not seen Index, or read it, i don't know anything outside of railgun, so i don't know if i'm to expect any connections later on(asides from the one guy in it at the moment)

Soooo... been a while since this got bumped. ^^;

Anywho, through 15 eps now, and the series shows no signs of stopping its brilliance.

New OP and ED for this previous ep, too. The OP in particular makes it look like we could be in for an equally exciting second half to the series.
