Thoughts on Scrapped Princess?

I'm looking for a new Fantasy Anime, and this one has caught my interest, has anyone else here watched it? What did you think?

I did a search but nothing about it for the last 6 months...

Watched it, and now own it ( for Japan Expo). It's a very solid series, good clear animation, and while the plot has sutble bits it is very straight foward and well planned. The predominate genre is fantasy, but there is a fair about of Sci-fi (due to Clarke's Third Law) and humour etc.
Will try and dig up the review of it I wrote, but not sure what computer it's on, but definitely worth watching.

Cool, thanks, sounds interesting, by the way, was it not released in the UK?
I ask this as i'm thinking of getting the complete series, and on searching i can only find it in R1 (not a problem)... and noticed that even as seperates i couldn't find it.

Yeah it's only region 1 (or 4), shame. Have suggested it as something to licences over here, but it probably is a little old and obscure.

The story is probably the strongest point of the series, it's not especially predictable (although, admittedly not too original), gripping, and told at a good pace. It has a good mix of drama, comedy and action, interesting characters, and a very appropriate ending. It may not be as powerful as series like Haibane Renmei, but for me this is a series that does nothing wrong.
