The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

SciFiBoy!

Great Teacher
i watched this anime online reccently and i loved it, its really good, so i wondered what other people think of it?
also does any of you know id its on dvd in the UK?

thanks for any posts!

Wahhh! Stop!

It's available in both regions, from Bandai in the US and Beez in the UK. However, it's only been collected in a boxset in Region 1.

::puts on badly sticking record::

Sunday, don't let region coding be a barrier. See if you can unlock either of your DVD players, just Google their make and model and "region unlock". It's normally just a code you tap into the remote.*

*I have now created a text file with this in so I never have to type it out again.

I've seen them in shops in the UK so their perceived rarity might just be down to Beez's recent distributor change and the transition. I expect they'll be back everywhere very soon and in the meantime only available through certain shops/online sites. There's a limited edition option for each volume in the UK (as well as the US) with some bonus items like music CDs so check carefully when you're ordering and make sure you get the right ones!

The dvds are available here as I have the limited Edition versions of all 4 volumes

As do i, mind you i have the US versions, though there isn't any difference =p.

Anywho, on Haruhi, its a great series i agree, though i'm probably one of the only ones that will say they dislike the broadcast order it was done in at first since i have read through the light novels. I just hope they keep to the novels for the second season, whenever they finally release that.

If i was to be honest, at first when i watched it, i was really quite impressed with it, but then i read through the light novels, and although yes i still find the series well done in its anime adaptation, i still find the novels to be far superior. Mind you, that tends to be the same for most things, like Full Metal Panic! as well for example(the series is still brilliant mind). If i where you, pick up the series and watch it through in its proper order, everything will make more sense then, and i, as said, prefer it. Also the light novels start getting released as of April this year so if you like the anime, i highly recommend picking the novels up too.
