The lack of manga with fully coloured artwork

The small amount of existing coloured page were really nice and made it a bit of shame that the rest artwork couldn't follow suit.

It would be massive undertaking but I could see it selling well enough in japan to make it worthwhile, unless the japanese got something really against coloured artwork?

Shounen Jump is, and has been for the last few months, fully colouring and releasing Dragon Ball.
 
I'm not sure whether you mean the anime comics, which are obviously very different, or the "new" printings of the original bound volumes (which have the new logo and color scheme on the covers, and the new spine illustrations), but either way I'm pretty sure they haven't been fully coloring the original DB series.

The way i look at it is that for the authors, who not only draw but write the manga, it'd be a bit too much work to do in a oner. I agree with this (I know I'm replying to an old-ish thread), I don't think they need to be in full color.

However, I would love to see more "big" moments reprinted in color when they are released in bound volumes. Bleach has a full color chapter in the Japanese tank for when Ichigo goes all bankai on Byakuya, and it ****ing rocks.

Neither - I mean exactly what I said. There have been 23 fully coloured chapters posted at Shounen Jump's website so far, at a rate of one per week. Japanese versions are also available.
 
Wow, I didn't know about that, I don't really check for web based stuff. Not much use if you can't buy it in print, though, so hopefully they will get around to releasing them in some fashion, even if it's "you must preorder to buy" or something.
 
Furthermore to the coloured Dragon Ball I mentioned, parts of Bleach have also been recently announced to be recieving colourisation. 12 parts have been released in colour, however only accessible through "Keitai Shounen Jump", "Mobile Shonen Jump" by paying a 315 yen per month (just over £2 per month at current exchange rates) subscription. Shown on pictures in the announcement are pages from chapters 33, 44, 55, 78, one entitled something like "[...] KING OF [...] REISCH [...]" with a picture of Ishida, one with a picture of Rukia lying in a field in front of an upturned bicycle, one of Chad without a shirt on with a tiger in the background, and other ones with not enough picture to identify.
 
Ah... I was afraid of that. I said 'parts' earlier as I couldn't figure out whether it was just the title pages or the actual chapters... :oops: As the other things I've seen through the same service have been manga to read online, I assumed it was the chapters, but oh well. :(
