It looks fairly terrible. The trailer did it no favours with constant text pop-ups.

If you want a proper, actually quite good video game movie, Mortal Kombat is God:

Ahahahahahaa Nostalgia! I LOVED that fight, no, the film!

The final fight between Shang Tsung and Lui Kang gave me goosebumps as a kid... I blame the pounding techno in the background

Yeah, the 'TEST UR MIGHT!' track at the end was/is killer - it gave me goosebumps, too. I downloaded the soundtrack when I got on the net. :D

The Reptile fight had pretty sweet music, too.

Great fight as it brought out Kang's bicycle kick and all, but it confused me when I first saw it. I thought it was Sub-Zero again who we'd already seen die (I realise now that voice says "Reptile" at the beginning)
 
What confused me about that fight was Cage. He vanished; leaving Kang and his cosplaying friend to do the man dance in dramatic fashion. For the entire fight, he was stood outside, more than likely chilling against a wall.

Talking of Cage, he made the film great. Some of his one-liners were excellent, like when he said, "Those were $500 sunglasses, asshole!" The sequel sucked mainly because they got a new actor and killed Cage off at the start.

The sequel was awful for so many different reasons (tried to hard with the cgi, LOL dialogue etc). I never really thought much of Cage really, but I hear he's back and starring in the new MK movie this year along with some of the other original actors
 
This film would have been good if they got Lil' Wayne as Eddy Gordo. You just lost yourself a customer.

EDIT: No King or JACK either? Bad sign already.

This thread has got my martial art flick juices flowing. You ain't lived if you haven't seen MK and Bloodsport. Kickboxer's pretty good, too. Paul Hertzog is an amazing musician, and he did the music of both Bloodsport and Kickboxer.

Still we all could of guessed what this was going to turn out like, when i first read about it was supposed to hit cinemas in october of last year, then next thing I know it's straight to DVD instead. For best effect they should of had this out the same time as Tekken 6
 
Technically there was already a Tekken movie made in Hong Kong called The Avenging Fist. I thought it might be good since it had both Yuen Biao and Sammo Hung in it but despite all the action it was a boring mess. Good job it only cost me about 50p.

Same actor for Cage, same actor for Lui Kang (Robin Shou I think his name was), possibly the same actor for Kitana... it's sounding good, I just hope they don't feck it all up :D

The same actor for Rayden, Christopher Lambert, is returning as well, last time I checked anyway, news to me about the original johnny cage actor. I'm praying it doesn't turn into the train wrecks the sequel and the Conquest live action series became.

I thought he was hot back then. >_< (I was... 12 or 13?) Must've been that silver wig, all things considered. :p

I watched MK way too many times back then lol, also ended up getting into the band "Gravity Kills" (they had a song on the soundtrack)
