The popularity of Yoshiki Tanaka's famous The Heroic Legend of Arslan fantasy novel series has seen the exploits of the Pars crown prince retold over the years through a variety of different manga and anime series, such as the currently airing television anime of the same name - itself borrowing from a manga adaptation by the renowned Fullmetal Alchemist creator Hiromu Arakawa.

The video game developer Koei Tecmo Games will be bringing the experience gained with their iconic Warriors ("Musou") games to the franchise with Arslan: The Warriors Of Legend, a brand new hack-and-slash game that today, has been confirmed to be coming to Europe early next year on Sony's PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 platforms, as well as Microsoft's XBox One console. The game is currently set to launch in Japan this October on the aforementioned Sony platforms. You can watch the official announcement trailer below:

Liden Films' currently airing television anime adaptation is currently being simulcast by the Viewster video streaming service and has been licensed in the United Kingdom by Anime Limited.

That's an interesting translation name. But anywho I'm excited to see this get an English release. Since it's coming to PS4 it should be getting a physical release so that's good on my terms.

Fun note:
I've only watched the first episode. But I know the series will get interesting so I waited out, however I prefer to watch the series in HD than on Viewster's streams unfortunately.

Very much into this.

Happy to see the Xbox One getting some love, means I can play :3
I find it pretty interesting that Koei Tecmo Games are actually porting the game to XBox One in the west. The reason why they're not releasing it on the console in Japan is obvious, but it's still a pretty surprising move to me considering the huge market share that the PlayStation 4 has in Europe.

Heck, considering that there's a PlayStation 3 version, a port on the Wii U would have made more sense to the Japanese market than the XBox One :P.

I'll buy this, now give Koei Tecmo the J-Stars Victory Vs IP to make a musou with that cast of characters instead of the boring crap you actually made....that game was such a wasted opportunity. Anyhoo, I hope I can play as Farangis, for reasons......

I like Warriors/Musou games well enough, although I wonder if there's not something better you could do with this kind of series (not that doing a Warriors game would necessarily stop you). It's interesting that they're trying different settings, at least.

I'm looking forward to Non Non Biyori Warriors, myself.

A Berserk one would be awesome.

It still annoys me that they didn't port the Gundam one over to the PS4 - hopefully they'll release a new one soon.
