It was previously announced that Kyoto Animation were working on a new <em>Tamako Market</em> project, following up from the television anime series that aired at the beginning of the year. Today, it has finally been revealed that the new project is <strong>Tamako Love Story</strong>, a brand-new film that will open in Japanese theatres on 26th April, 2014. The director, head scriptwriter, character designer and main cast members will all be reprising their roles.
<em>Tamako Market</em> was a 12 episode slice of life series that centered on Dera Mochimazzwi, a bossy, overweight bird from a tropical island who departs on a journey to find a suitable wife for his Prince. Eventually, he ends up in Japan and in particular, the Usagiyama Shopping District, where he befriends Tamako Kitashirakawa, the daughter of a Mochi shop owner and soon becomes acquainted with both the lives and love lives of the shopping district's residents. The series has been licensed in North America by Sentai Filmworks.
