It just sounded like someone TRYING to be cute and funny in the dub, yet failing miserably.

Dubs tend to annoy me in general, however I tolerated watching 2nd gig, right until the ear slashing dentist drill-like voices of the Tachikoma's reared their way on screen.
I instantly abandoned it.
You might aswell check it out though, because I hate a vast, VAST majority of dubs.
