Super Mario Galaxy - Yes it is that good!

Well my forum activity has been majorly cut down - partly due to this game and a drama production going through all this week and I must state that this game is great! Not because it is mario, not because of the hype (I only saw the first batch, and heard of review scores from friends!) but because it is immense fun to play and reminds us all of how platformers are meant to be -

The motion controls? Not shoved in your face but are fun to use

The gravity system? Flawless. Really I havent played a game were such a system has been put to such good use - if you know of any then please tell me and I will check it out right away!

And there are loads of memories of old mario games slotted in to make an extremely fresh but also reminiscint game. (Oh and bowser is no longer an idiot like he was in sunshine and paper mario:TYD and super paper mario)

bad points: minor ones: It might be a little too easy for some, and the story does seem to leave lots of questions about Roslina - that is with 120 stars got and playing the second time through

with Luigi! He jumps higher, moves faster but is a bit clumsy so we'll see if anything different happens when you complete it again!

So if you have any questions about the game that you unsure about send me a message and I'll try and help - oh if you're wondering if you should get it for you wii then you should already be on your way to the shops by the time I've finished this.

Is it better than Super Mario 64? hmmmm I don't like to say as I believe great games cant be compared as they are great in their own way! If anyone has views on this then go ahead and post - it would be intersting to see what you guys think of this - but if you dislike it please back it up with something! but then you guys already know that!

What an amazing game, Im currently on 94 stars and counting, the gravity system, planetoids and many other gameplay mechanics feel so fresh.
I had friends smiling and laughing just from watching me playing it, one of the best games in a long time, sure there are some downers but the overall experience is so unforgettable that they mean nothing.

Its a really good game, haven't been on it too much but got near enough 45 stars, i'll probably complete it over the next week since i have a whole revision week so no lectures. probably give my full view on it then.

I don't see what is so good about, I've never played it so I can't judge the game. But it sounds just like another mario adventure game but with gravity, if gravity is the only thing its got going for it, its gonna get old fast with me. And yes, I didn't like Mario 64

I really wasn't all that bothered about this game. I played Super Mario 64 on the DS, and wasn't all that impressed with it, and people said that it was its true sequel (so to speak), so it wasn't something I was all that keen on getting.

But, after watching the comparasons to Sunshine (which I really like) I am psyched about this game. I know I am getting it for Christmas, so I will be playing it in a month =D

I've heard this quite a bit and I see where you're coming from but there is more to this game than just "its the next mario"

oh gravity is not the only thing going for it but its just one of the more talked about things - many levels actually discount the gravity system and work like the mario 64 in that if you fall off the edge you die due to black holes!

But there are just so many new and fresh ideas that have been developed for this game, especially in the power-up section such as Ice Mario where any water he walks on turns into a platform of Ice and ghost mario and with enemys such as bomb ghosts (it works!) and loads of little bits slotted in such as the comet missions which some prove to be some of the hardest platform missions I have done in a while - of course mario fans will get even more of a blast out of this but if you're still unsure rent it or borrow it form someone and give it a try!

100% sure that Galaxy is better than Mario 64.

Agreed. Super Mario Galaxy is just an awesome game, friend complain about the graphics levels of the wii alot at college, graphics arent everything, the game is just pure brilliance.

If you can't like either, or bother to do more research before opening your mouth,, then there's no hope for you.

Dunno though. He's got a point. Was a great game yes but, it was supposed to be one of the best ever?? Nah. Sorry DMC4 already tops it, and Zelda etc. Tbh I had more f un on Pikmin too.

At least Galaxy has something -new- to offer, while DMC4 gives you a new barely original character who's basically Dante but his name is "Nero" and he's voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch. [Redeeming quality]

He may play differently, but his appearence -is- Dante, I'm not saying that DMC series is ******, but I certainly wouldn't compare it to SMG in terms of how -good- they both are individually.

Yeah. I agree with that. Nero and Dante look exactly the same.

The problem with you calling Super Mario Galaxy easy, And then comparing it too Devil May Cry is that both off the games mentioned are targeted at COMPLETELY different demographics and hence the difference in difficulty. I haven't played DMC4 yet.. I'm eager too - I'm pretty sure it won't change the ideal by many people that Galaxy is a much better addition to the Mario franchise than what another hack and slash DMC game is to their series.

Whatever... Both good games.. Both VERY different games.
