Staying On Topic - "Your viewing journal" and Non-Anime Media Discussion

I can't see any recent reports for that topic? If they get reported (via the Report feature) we'll take a look and deal with them as needed.

I will say FWIW that while I can understand both sides of this argument, I have posted less frequently in the viewing journal thread now I'm not technically supposed to just put everything there rather than having to make posts in various different threads. I do see why some people thought it would be easier to find say, info on non-anime animated things if they have to be posted specifically that thread though. I think it's a bit unfortunate if it means that potentially everyone sticks a bit more with what they know because they are less likely to see other things that might also appeal sprinkled in.

Going slightly off topic but the problem with the viewing journal thread (which I shall lazily toss in here, in memory of Ayase's diplomacy, which Otomo can attest is second only to my own) is less the occasional non-anime mention, and more the thread itself. That and the user that slays dragons triggers me, given my average word count.

Y'see, there's this totally new site called MyAnimeList, that I totally didn't make an account on decades ago (and interact with a user known only as 'beefcake'). There, you list anime. Or if you're meee, you listed then edited the tag function to turn them into mini-reviews. Just 'cause.

Point is, a journal is not a merely list, and a discussion board is not merely a board. It'd be silly to expect everyone to tltr, as Sparky bravely attempts, but surely a sentence or even a few words besides the title/ep would be more beneficial to... discussing. Discussion is an art form lost to modern interaction and avoiding conflict.

Sooo, my suggestion: split the viewing journal thread so that chatty typey peoples can have their homebase, and non-chatty typey peoples can merrily list away. Otherwise, 'tis something of a mish-mash... which lead me to creating the review thread, a lifetime ago. Despite the fact I was ignorant, in addition to tltr back then. The horror...

...Oh, and maybe escalating 1-69 week bans to those that dare to mention non-anime, in anime threads, on an anime forum are in order. I support Ayase/Otomo's motion for this. 'Tis for the greater good. Three cheers for Ayase/Otomo!

PS: Likes have killed what little room was left for interaction. Why bother posting if you can 👍? The brief dopamine hit of approval is only worth something if in lieu of adding to a thread/discussion.
PS2: To ***, I will try that Orb anime. One day~
PS3: To *****, I cba go into Tommy Robinson/politics. Forgive me.

This is a fair point and is why I try to actually post something other than just the names of things when I do post in any of the viewing/reading journal threads... even though I don't think I'm very good at it 😅 🤔

I say old chap, steady on!

...I think my MacBook needs some dust cleared out of it to make it work better so I can type bigger, longer and more detailed posts again? It prob should also be switched off for a bit more often, why, I can hear it faintly saying "pleeaaaase take better care of me I have an iPad wife and iPhone/iPod kids to look after!"
