The long running Light Novel series Spice & Wolf is set to end with it's 16th volume on the 10th of February next year. Both the final volume and volume 15 of the series cover the final story arc to the series, despite this though, there is hints that the possiblility of short stories for the series are still quite likely, so there may still be more to come after this.
Spice & Wolf follows after Full Metal Panic! in finishing its light novel series, and both are being released in english with Volume 3 of Spice & Wolf released later this month, and FMP! finally returning to the release schedule with Volumes 4 & 5 set for release on the 1st of Feb 2011.

Light novels end up similar lengths to manga, 15 volumes seems about right.

Most series i've noticed either fall above that(by a lot, see Full Metal Panic, To Aru Majutsu no Index for example) or a fair bit below that. You're also forgetting the fact that light novel series are more often than not backed up by short story novel collections as well as the main story novels, so again, you can't tell how long a light novel series will last. Far less predictable than Manga, and the consumer market is different as well, caters to more than manga does.

FMP has 12 volumes total.

The endless one is Marimite, 35+ volumes

Aha, that is false. Full Metal Panic has more than 12. FMP has 12 main story novels, however, it also has 10 short story novels, and that's only for now. He even commented that he would consider writing more short story novels for afterwards. So no, FMP is at 22, not 12.
