Sola

I haven't seen it, but I always planned (once I knew it was announced) to get it on DVD in June, even with BVUSA's extortionate prices and large volume count per series. Sadly its only one of three BVUSA titles I want this year (the other two being true tears and Shigofumi - which come out in May).

Sola = Very good, i have to agree.

@ryuzaki
True Tears is a very good romance, drama, comedy (at times comedy). I also love the style of animation, i think its brilliant!

Hmm, both sound interesting. I might give them a go some time (True Tears sounds the most convincing.)
Thanks for that guys!

I've seen pictures of true tears, and it looks stunning (as with Sola).

Don't read the following spoiler if you don't want your true tears experience to be potentially ruined (won't apply to all people).

I've seen some comments on AoD discussing the unnecessary use of CG that's used in true tears. Its one of those things that unless you're told about you won't notice (very well) - which is why I'm hiding this comment.

I saw two pictures of very similar aerial views, and they look almost identical, but it wasn't until I read about the CG that I noticed they were slightly different. I personally don't have a problem with this very well hidden use and blending of CG, but one of the members on the forums stopped watching after episode 1 because of its use.

Probably the most cliche anime I've EVER seen, I can't believe I watched 2 full episodes of it. How can people enjoy this crap?

Okay I think I might explain since I watch it plus the ovas.

Sola at the beginning was decent, then when it got to episode 2 it started to feel like it was going nowhere. After episode 4 I felt like I wanted to drop the show, only until episode 5 it started to get good (I think because I have not seen this since nearly a year) after they started increasing the pace of the show with some action and cliff hangers which kept me to carry on with the show.

Animation wise it was decent, not much if compare to kyoto animation but still decent. The audio is really cool and so is the OP and ED theme.

Sola is more of a action-romance-supernatural thing from what I saw, the writer was the on who did Kanon, and the art was done by the same guy who did Dacapo and ef.

So if you like bishoujo anime/game with romance and action/lovetriangle then this is for you! And if you don't then you guys can keep that to yourselfs thank you.

Also can't wait for the sola manga!

It's hard for me to keep my opinion of the genre to myself when someone tells me to keep it to myself (it's not for you to tell me and any others to not express an opinion when you are allowed to express yours), and when I have such a profound distaste for anime such as sola that look like they were made in an anime "factory" and allow otakus to consume and forget.

You are all entitled to consume and forget it, but don't moan when people people point out the glaring flaws or express their own opinion. If you like something enough, be prepared to defend it at least.

I think shh227 was referring to the insulting of fans of this type of anime when saying to keep it to yourself, perhaps? But everyone is entitled to an opinion of course, just don't make it sound like a personal attack or flame, or some sarcastic comment etc.

At the spoiler part:
Yer CG's are used in very random places, i think its because they are slowly trying to bring it into more animes. It is noticable most of the time unless you are really not concentrating on the anime itself.

What part of what I said was a flame or personal attack? It was a general message to people with a similar attitude.

Its like the other thread about the general attitudes that anime fans seem to have these days; people just seem to be all negative, and quite frankly I agree.

Comments like "lacking brain matter helps" to refer to the people who enjoy these kinds of series aren't really appreciated.

I'm sorry I didn't like the unique and extremely original Sola. Please accept my apology.

Did I say you have to like it? No. It just isn't appreciated to be the bad guy for enjoying something you clearly don't.

That's quite the hypocritical comment. I know plenty of fans that are dissatisfied with the state of the industry, but they do acknowledge that are still some quality anime out there.

I guess the phrase "the truth hurts" is a very apt thing to say then. You can whine about my negative attitude all you want, but as long as you don't even defend it and just hide behind the word "opinion", no-one is going to take this series seriously.
