The media rights holder and distributor Fabulous Films revealed that it will release the first English DVDs for The Mysterious Cities of Gold adventure series in the United Kingdom in February 2008, with release plans in the United States and Australia afterwards. The European production company DIC and Japan's Studio Pierrot based this 39-episode series about the search for South America's mythical Seven Cities of Gold on The King's Fifth novel from Scott O'Dell (Island of the Blue Dolphins). The series aired widely through the world, including on Japan's NHK in 1982, Nickelodeon in the United States in the late 1980s, Australia's ABC, and the Children's BBC in the United Kingdom

The bad news, It's fabulous films, u know, the guys who are "releasing" Inuyasha at a record pace of 1 dvd a year. So we may get the series in time for the olympics

DIC rocked, they made Sonic SatAM.

Can't say Pierrot made anything quite as famous, though.
I guess Pierrot are making their living out of Naruto and Bleach, so I'd say they're probably doing really well for themselves (sorry if you posted that as a joke...I suck at spotting that kind of thing).

Anyway, MCoG was a classic of my childhood that I'd love to see again...I really wasn't expecting a UK DVD release at all.

Well i still have MCOG on video so until a boxset comes out I will stick to the vids as I get the feeling these releases could really be dragged out

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Along with Thundercats, MCoG was *THE* animation of my childhood! :D

And with Thundercats being released now (but why only by HMV?!) I can have them both in my DVD collection. :)

Incidentally, does anyone know of the possibilities of Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors or M.A.S.K being properly released on 'Full Season' DVDs?[/b]
