i don't see how these grusome ads can go on tv before watershed but anime can't tbh

still, think it's the most powerful one to date

::ahem::

That 'Don't Text and Drive' infomercial which has been sitting at the top of the viral video charts and is now apparently international news. Don't see what all the fuss is about really, it wasn't that shocking.

WARNING: May be disturbing to people who don't like Queen.

video's half the size of my one ;)
Easily Remedied. :p

<object width="640" height="505"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/QggEvJAlV1s&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd311b"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/QggEvJAlV1s&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd311b" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="505"></embed></object>

If you're going to raise awareness at least air something somewhat entertaining and far less realistic:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/lM4JFy7mPNk&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/lM4JFy7mPNk&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

i ment video length not size XD
That's not what you said though. ;)

Anything short of footage or pictures of someone's actual death by car accident fails to shock me anymore, and most of that imagery is from racing rather than road crashes. Blame the internet (and probably, Grand Theft Auto)

That welsh one is kinda lost on my because I completely forget the message it is trying to convey when I try to guess what those welsh words mean. :/ That & when you see it slowed down for the Queen spoof you can see how comparatively cheap the special effects are.

What Welsh words Mutsumi? :?

Those ones on the bottom of the screen at the end. It always bugs me when something is in welsh without an english translation when wales itself has more english speakers than welsh speakers.

What, you mean 'A DefyingDarwin & Happino Joint'?

XD

I'm pretty sure that means the spoof video was a 'joint production' of two people whose online aliases are 'DefyingDarwin' and 'Happino'. I could be wrong though... if it has some other Welsh meaning I'm sure our Welsh contingent can enlighten us.

Ooooh, that could be it! XD No wonder that I thought it made no sense; it didn't! Usually I can figure out a rough meaning of any european rooted foreign languages I see, but that made no sense to me & I see why!

These extremely graphic ads don't seem like they're going to work in any great way. Because they are so gory, I think the point (which is: don't text and drive at the same time because it's ******* stupid!) is kind of lost amidst the cringe-inducing violence.

And on a broader point, I really don't think scare tactics work all well no matter what you're trying to scare people into doing. I mean, I spent all of my second-level education and much of my first-level education hearing about how obscenely unhealthy smoking is and the packets even tell me of my impending death/impotence/death of those around me and I still smoke. And my friends still text while driving. Unless you talk to people like adults, I don't think you're going to make them care all that much.
