Should I Buy JUMP! Ultimate Stars?

Hey, was just wondering your opinions on the game and if anyone owns it? I was scanning around on eBay and saw it for £20 with postage and that seemed pretty decent really, but is it hard to navigate it being in Japanese n all etc.? Controls good? You know the jist of what im asking :p

Many thanks

I love it! I can read it so it's hard to blithely say whether it's easy to navigate, but my fiancé has no problems so it seems ok. You might need to look at a FAQ though for some of the 1P mode match conditions - most are simple to work out but some of the bonus conditions for extra crystals you'll likely need a hand with. Multiplayer (online and local) you should be fine with though.

It's very similar to Smash Brothers only without the things I hate about Smash Brothers and with more likeable characters (if you really like SB you might find the differences a bad thing, not sure, but it's still good fun anyway).

I had the original and the sequel has far more characters and is more fun to chip away at, though it did apparently lose a couple of series in exchange for gaining a lot more.

I'm absolutely terrible at it, but I love it anyway.

It's mostly in Japanese, but it's easy to navigate after a short while. I payed £45 for it, even then it was well worth it. It's a solid fighting game [well, as in it's good to play and crap] but it is quite broken. Especially Fist of the North Star characters. ATATATATATATATATA. Online play you'll get raped if you don't know how to play, and honestly, online NO ONE plays fair, they all spam the big three [Sena, Seiya and Trunks] I advise you get used to the game and unlock mostly everything before playing online. But yeah, get the game.

It lost Hikaru no Go and Mr. Fullswing and gained: Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro, Muhyo and Rouji, Kinnikuman, Fist of the North Star, Saint Seiya, Captain Tsubasa, Hoshin Engi, I''s, Jigoku Sensei Nube, Jungle King Ta-Chan, Rokudenashi Blues, Sakigake!! Otokojuku, Taizo King Saga and Tottemo! Luckyman. So yeah, it did gain a lot more than it lost, would like to see Mr. Fullswing come back with Hikaru no Go and would also like to see Mx0 and To-Love-Ru in the sequal too.

It is definitely worth getting since it is a great fighting game and it's easy to pick up what the charactes moves are after a while playing it

Yes, make sure you equip your characters with a help koma or two to give 'em a boost, like Naruto makes you bounce off of with walls, Lenalee Lee makes you jump three times, etc.

I'll answer any additional questions if you want.

Thanks Lupus. Can I ask what Support and Help are? And how il know to equip koma's with the text being in Japanese n all :lol:

Koma = Panel

Help = one koma panel they are just faces of characters which give characters a special trait when equiped to them. As I've said before, to equip them on the Koma deck board you just place them next to the koma of the playable character and place the support arrow next to 'em.

Support = Two/Three koma panels that are actually taken from the manga panels and they do their own unique thing to help you in battle like level 2 Yoruichi will come out and grab you and Shunpo you across the screen to safety, and level 3 Yoruichi will use shunko and it will damage your opponent [if they're dumb enough to run into it]

Komas are easy to equip, this video should give you some insight to it.
