<em>SFX Magazine</em> is to release a special "Collection" edition covering anime and manga tomorrow.

The magazine will include features on <em>Dragon Ball Z</em>, <em>Nausciaa of the Valley of the Wind</em>, and the studio Toei Animation. It will also cover anime such as <em>Welcome to the Space Show</em>, <em>Tiger and Bunny</em>, <em>Fullmetal Alchemist</em>, <em>Blood-C</em>, <em>Broken Blade</em>, <em>Berserk</em>, <em>Angel Beats</em>, <em>Baka and Test</em>,<em> Ghost in the Shell,</em> and <em>Evangelion</em>.

<em>SFX</em> said in a statement: "<em>SFX</em> is back with another fantastic special edition, this one revealing everything you need to know about the anime scene. Hot new shows detailed, DVDs reviewed, stars interviewed and more! With columns from some of the UK&rsquo;s best-known commentators on the subject, tons of information on anime old and new, and a celebration of seminal series <em>Dragon Ball Z</em>, you won&rsquo;t want to miss it."

I've never picked one of these up but they seem to do one every few months? Are they any good or is it just things we already know about from using the web?

Let us give full consideration to what is here proposed: an ultimate guide to anime. Respecting this claim, it must be the case that for there to be any subsequent guide to anime, or indeed anything pre-existing of broader ambit or greater incisiveness, would immediately discredit the subtitle of the publication aforementioned. The supplementary claim that the periodical will impart in a single issue "everything you need to know about the anime scene" is precarious — for the contributors to fail to accordingly make mention of Space Runaway Ideon or Di Gi Charat would be quite ignominious.

The legal services solicited by the publication must be most robust.

To my surprise they actually had alot of interesting stuff, alot i still have to read. ive only read the whole section on Dragonball so far. It was nice, but they only talked about the characters and the whole timeline.

It has some really good reviews, a section on the new Beserk movie, a section talking about the history of Toei animation (My favorite anime studio) and alot more!

Got my copy today (along with Neo issue 100). Pleased that I got all the bonus items this time as I didn't get the double sized poster with the last SFX anime special - I ended up getting one in the end but only after emailing them several times (there was a delay in the poster getting sent to me as it was sent internally but then somewhere along the line someone forgot to post it to me until I mentioned I still hadn't received it. I think it took over a month in all to get it sorted out).
