Sentai filmworks to release Ghost Sweeper Mikami tv series.

Weird timing, but a pleasant surprise. I was in the process of writing a review of this in which I moaned about how no one ever fan-subbed it beyond episode 16.

I'm puzzled as to why they should pick it up, considering I wouldn't have thought the fanbase was strong enough to justify a dvd release, but I'm certainly not complaining. :)

The reason is that, inspite of thier Zombie Status, these guys are still zombie ADV and that will forever be thier downfall. They could only downfall more if they picked up MVM.

This just baffles me stupid as a business move, the manga's never been released in a legal to watch format (It's great but you need to dawn the eyepatch to read that sucker) and there's still Zetai Karren Children (or: the second best reason why Shonen Sunday is better than Jump, the first being Kongoro Banchou) which is far more new and likely to get people intrested.

If Sunday was actually better than Jump, it would be because of Hayate no Gotoku! and Kekkaishi, imo. Especially since Kongou Banchou finished.

I want to say something sage like, "perhaps in death, ADV can be of more use to us than they were in life", but that still doesn't make any sense.

There's a certain logic in releasing the Golgo series, but I can't make head nor tail of this at all. The only version of Mikami available in the US is the movie and I can't see that having made all that much impression on the market (when was the last time you heard anyone mention it?). The series is apparently very popular in Latin America and I suppose it's not out of the question that it might have run in the states on Spanish-language tv, but I can't see that being a strong enough reason to give it an English language DVD release.

I don't know. Sentai are clearly barking mad, although I kind of respect them for that. Perhaps we can start petitioning for other obscure non-commercial things like Urashiman, L-Gaim, mk1 Cutey Honey and the last seasons of City Hunter...

Edit: Oh and Cobra. I'll love them forever if they'll release the original Cobra series with a decent English script.

Ah, you didn't mention that you were only talking about a specific 10% of Jump's content.

Aye? One Piece is that good as to make 90%

I don't even know what this means, especially not without a final piece of punctuation.
