As I said elsewhere the Edinburgh lineup is fantastic, little disappointed In This Corner of the World isn't there but I guess that was really hoping for too much.

I'll be visiting Edinburgh a few times that week by the looks of it.

In fairness, ITCotW won't actually be completed by time of SLA or we'd have considered it a strong contender for competition...

Also not featured due to a slew of reasons: Digimon Tri, One Piece Gold, Persona 3 Movies 2-4 alas!

Isn't Persona 3 The Movie 2: Midsummer Knight's Dream currently on Netflix? So once people have seen 1: Spring of Birth, they can check it out there :p

(Why Movie 1 isn't on Netflix will continue to confuse me, however. Can you do anything to help with that? :p)

Without wishing to sound ungrateful, I'd like to say that putting anything on at 11pm is a dealbreaker for me. Sorry, but if I can't get the train home afterwards, I don't want to know.

Can't blame you - but every year we co-opt the cult film slot at the GFT and Belladonna of Sadness is the perfect fix. It's a real shame when people have the problem you do and I completely understand / am sympathetic - but I have a limited number of slots to work with at the GFT so if the cult late night slot is what I have to work with, that's what I do :)!

Not a big help but it will also play at 20:30 in Edinburgh on the Wednesday the 19th of October too :).

We try our best every year, sorry to let you down there though!

Best,

AP

Great line up this year! Not sure if I'll be heading over to Edinburgh or Glasgow for any screenings, but I anxiously await the few that tour to Dundee/Aberdeen (hoping for Belladonna, Momotaro, the Shinkais). Though on the off chance that Makoto Shinkai is a guest I may not be able to resist! Or get Tenmon to perform live and I'll definitely be there.

Also, good to see that AL have Princess Arete. Not one that I'll be rushing to see on the big screen, but if AL have both Genius Parties and Arete...surely they have Mind Game too!? Now that needs a theatrical release of some sort

Umm.. I'll have to apologise on this one. I made an error on that, it's actually being provided by Studio 4C not Anime Limited.

But then again, we could see Andrew acquiring Mind Game and Princess Arete in the future.

Last time some AL pickups were leaked by the BBFC (as AL had them classified for exhibition at SLA), so maybe try keeping an eye on them?

Oh my bad, I thought it had already been shown elsewhere. Perhaps next year lol or maybe it'll get it's own run by Animatsu.

It was screened as a Work In Progress in Annecy - but only a short piece was shown. The film opens on November 12th so sadly misses the window for Scotland Loves Anime as that'd be too wide a gap for a world premiere alas, next year though maybe and I'm sure it'll get something else too from Animatsu :).

Minor amendment to the article:

Quick note that there’s no Q&A in Edinburgh after Pigtails.

The Q&A after Pigtails is in Glasgow only. In Edinburgh Pigtails is being screening along side other shorts from Production I.G; the shorts taking the place of the Q&A.

Man, I'd love to love in Edinburgh right now... You have no idea just how much I want to see Koe and Your Name. ;_______;
Really hoping that the creation of Engsubs for the two greatly increases the chances of subbed JP BDs at least...

This! I am jealous of Scotland/surrounding areas. Wish there was something similar here in the South not cause of distance but so i can go after work to some showing, when SLA is held it coincides with a busy period at work. Plus, I don't really wanna travel all the way up to Scotland just for one film a day in some cases.

I suspect Shinkai will release Your Name. with English subs like he has done with his two recent films (CWCLV and TGoW) and the re-release of 5cm/s.
