Sake and Asahi beer query.....

I was thinking of getting some Saki this Christmas. My local supermarket stocks Hakutsuru Sake 720ml.

Has anyone tried this before and if so, is it any good. Does anyone have any other suggestions with regards to brands to look for.

I was going to get some Hakutsuru sake last Christmas but I bottled it.

While on the subject of drink does anyone know where Asahi beer is sold. In previous years I was able to get it from either Asda or Sainsburys near where I live but neither stocked it last time I checked.
 
I know Morrison's sell 500ML bottles of Asahi and 4 packs of 330ML Asahi.

I went though a phase of always getting Asahi - it's a really nice beer, its a bit dryer than other beers but i like the blunt taste of it, but with all beers - i always go through phases with em cuz the more i have of a single brand of beer the more a get bored of it.

I'll prolly get around to drinking Asahi again sometime, but right now I'm into Tyskie (I think it's a Polish beer, its a bit strong at 5.6% but I like it hehe).


Heineken is the best and always will be =) - actually, Erdinger is WELL nice hehe

P.S I know Sainsburys used to sell 'Sake' but not anymore, does anyone else know where I can find some Sake, cuz I've always wanted to try it. I can see myself not liking it cuz rice wine doesn't sound nice at all (not that I don't like normal wine, cuz I love red, rose and white wines).

Though I very rarely drink, I shall hnour my mild Polish heritage and recommend such a brand. 'Tis quite enjoyable, from what I remember of it.
 
Best going to Booths for sake I think. I get Choya sake from there, and it is 100x>Hakutsuru. Best warm in my opinion.

But as mentioned, Morrisons have the Asahi beer as well as Tiger beer. Both of these are on offer atm.

Sainsburys still sell Sake. I got a bottle of Hakutsuru sake (720ml) and a bottle of Doragon sake (33cl).

As for Asahi beer - Tesco online lists it so I will check instore next time I go to the city centre (it is easier for me to get to a Tesco than a Morrisons store).

Other beers I plan on getting include Corona Extra, Sol, San Miguel. I may get some Becks or Budweiser (the Czech version not the American one).
