Having already gone on record as an outspoken anime fan back in early March, Robin Williams has again praised the creative freedom (and darker themes) seen in Japanese animation.<ul><span class=menu>Robin Willaims:
"I am a big fan of Japanese animation. They make movies like Innocence: Ghost In The Shell 2 and Appleseed in which they really look at the darker themes and I am fascinated by what they do. I love animation. It allows me to be free to create a character that is totally different than me. And with the Japanese, every film pushes the envelope a little further."</span></ul>Thanks to Anime News Service for this quote.

Robin Williams is a legend ;) Nice to see he's keeping up to date with his anime too.

More favourable mainstream coverage for anime can only be a good thing for the Western market.

I never would have guessed the guy from Flubber was an anime fan!! its good to know that he is a fan and is helping to push anime.

If you see One Hour Photo youll see some EVA figures. Apparently Williams asked the director to put em in.
