ok do you have reward points or credit that you want to spend, i do i have nearly £100 of credit in hmv and i started the reward points at axlemusic
to be honest i find reward points and credit very useful if you've brought loads of manga and anime, cause if you've got a tight ass budget for that mouth the reward points and credit can be a big help
 
That is usually the case, and I dont think many people will not want to spend credit/rewards for their items.
(If you do, then I'd have to say you're pretty dumb. An extra few -£ from the price is a good thing peeps!)

But you usually have to buy loads or drip money over time for your account to get something worthwhile. That's why I think it's good to have since most are free (i.e. GAME), but I don't get conned into buying more than I need.

i find reward points very reassuring
 
I would think about using dem HMV points, what with them being a bit rocky at the mo. You won't get credit for them if they go bust (unlikely but still..) my friend had a gift card for Zavvi and they were going bust before she could use it, when she tried they said they could only accept cash as they were going into administration.

the reason i never used my reward points on hmv is cause i dont know how to use them, i know they go on the card but i dont know if the £100 will go on all at once could someone have a look for me and double check,
when it comes to deals like this im useless lol

I take it you are talking about purehmv rewards in which case the following is what their site says,

£20 purehmv credit
Redeem credit here in increments of £2, £5, £10 and £20 which can used in-store at hmv (not online at hmv.com) br>
You can spend your points in return for a £2, £5, £10 or even £20 credit to spend in-store.

Here's how it works:

Step 1
Once you have enough points, spend them for a purehmv credit here at the arena. The value will automatically be stored on your purehmv card or key fob.

Step 2
Make a purchase in-store equal to, or greater than, your purehmv credit and you will be invited to use your credit to save money off your total transaction.

Terms and conditions:

1.This reward entitles the purehmv member to a purehmv credit to the value of £20

As for myself I have cards with HMV, Game, Gamestation, Nectar and I also get rewards points with Maximiles (similar to Nectar but there is no cards and is online only) and Planetaxel.
 
Errr I might have some axelpoints, never really looked. They offers with them seemed a bit weird.

GAME are alright for it I think, always a nice surprise to notice you've got £2.50/£5 to take off something.

Amazon points build up little by little, not exactly the most generous though (and no need to be really, since their actual prices are often very good).
 
wait if hmv does go bust wont the site still be there, like they'll do what woolworths did go from main stream but will stay as a order site? cause its a winners

Seriously, do you need 3 posts for each sentence?

In keeping with the discussion, I find that the points will normally tip me over the edge in buying something or for using a slightly more expensive site then the cheaper alternative. Take HMV, I pre-order all my anime dvds and blu rays from them and I buy alot of new releases and place pre-orders on alot of new products, because of this I managed to accumulate 1000's of points and enough to warrent a free magazine subscription to Retro gamer.
If I continued using HMV for all my pre-orders then next year i'll apply the subscription again, without having to shell out £40. Game's point system is also pretty apealing due to money off, but i'm trying to boycott companies which screw over major game publishers.

Judging by the terms I listed I would say that you could get multiple £20 credits loaded onto your card but that you could only use 1 at a time and that if you use a £20 credit then the transaction must be for at least £20.
