I've taken a look at the first volume of the action-packed s-CRY-ed, released in the UK by Beez a few weeks ago.
s-CRY-ed #1 introduces us to a fine action series, full of super-strong uppercuts and guns as big as your house. While not exactly rich in story and admittedly populated with a group of cliché characters, I can't help but recommend s-CRY-ed as a series fit for even the most demanding of action junkies.

I quite enjoyed reading your review of volume 1 of Scryed, but I have to say, the reason I don't like reviews based on a few episodes, is because a person can get completely the wrong idea about many aspects of a series!
It doesn't take long for the series to delve deeply into the main characters backgrounds, or the real reasons for HOLD and HOLY's actions to be revealed, but I'm really pleased you enjoyed what you watched. It's one of my favourite shounen anime :D

I look forward to seeing if you're correct Miaka-chan, I can definently see this show getting better once the character development kicks in.

I also look forward to seeing if Ryuho and Kazuma eventually team up :)

I have to say that why I liked the ideas in the story I found the anime rather dull... but that's based on the rest of the series... I liked the first few episodes. I'll stop now because not everyone has seen it. Moo
