We have just posted Michelle Howarth's review of <a href="http://www.animeuknews.net/viewreview.php?showreview=244">Devil Lady</a> (courtesy of ADV (R1 Import)).<ul class="menu">"Devil Lady is perhaps one of the best horror titles I have seen. With just the right amounts of violence, a brooding gothic atmosphere and well developed cast of interesting characters there is little to prevent me from recommending it. The violence may be a little to much for some to stomach as may the nudity and slight sexual content, but if your not phased by this and the disjointed ending then there is a lot here to enjoy."</ul><a href="http://www.animeuknews.net/viewreview.php?showreview=244">Read more...</a>

Great review, and a great score, I think you've certainly nailed this one. The overreaching cessation did dampen my enjoyment of the series a little more than I would have liked, but as Michelle's mentioned there's so much more to recommend this show - the bloody action, and palpably sinister atmosphere chief amongst them, not forgetting a soundtrack that makes the Omen's sound positively cuddly in comparison ;). Plus if you're a fan of the original Devilman you'll have a lot of fun picking out all the parallels between this and Go Nagai's other opus.

Having Devilman's Akira show up in the later episodes was certainly pretty damn cool. I love this show. I'd imagine that a lot of people would dismiss this show it being by Go Nagai, but it's really worth it to those who took the plunge!

One of my favourite anime shows!

in my opinion it was good but i do agree that it had a rather slow start which might put off people if adv ever get round to releasing it over here (i still dont know what happened around the mess of the release 2 years back and why it never came out even though the discs were finished and ready).
but while it was good it never reached the level of the devilman ova which are classics , the second ova had one of the best fights ive seen in any anime. and if you think the devil lady was gory watch the third devilman ova which is probably one of the goriest thing ive seen yet. maybe manga can licence the 3rd ova and release all 3 here, but it doesnt really fit in with what they release now.
