Earlier this year, Revelation Films postponed their entire 2008 release schedule to "concentrate" on their existing releases. This mean't that, amongst many others, the last DVD volumes of Mushishi and Beck - Mongolian Chop Squad were never released in the UK.
Many anime fans were concerned that the company may have permenantly withdrawn from the UK anime industry, but today, we received a press release from Revelation Films detailing their 'Q1' (January, February, and March) anime DVD schedule for 2009, which is as follows:

January

Fullmetal Alchemist Season One Part One

February

Spiral The Complete Series Box Set

March

Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle #6 (Final DVD volume)

Tsubasa The Complete Series Box Set

The press release concludes with "Keep an eye out for more information on many great anime titles throughout 2009!"

I already have FMA and no interest in the others :(

FMA should do well though if it's marketed right - the sea of singles that might have put some people off collecting work much better in half season packs.

Anyone who wants to tell me I'm a dork for not wanting to watch Tsubasa without having already wanted to watch it can be informed in advance I will be ignoring them.

It's also another kick in the teeth for those who were supporting the singles of Beck, Mushi-shi, Hell Girl, and whatever else Revelation decided to first move to a quarterly release schedule then indefinitely postpone. Poor show, Revelation.

I somehow feel validated in my option to not pick up the FMA singles (apart from maybe when they were in the sale) I will have to see what the price is for this half season set, i'm going to guess that this will just be the first 12 episodes or so. The others though i'm not intrested in that much, but i would like to see what oher Funi titles we'll get through Revelation given the news of Manga getting some of their stuf

It's good to hear that the final volume of Tsubasa
is coming out and I may just get the FMA when it comes out since I have been wanting to get it for some time

Taking the piss!!!

So rather than finishing off series that are on the go, they're going to release box sets of series that are already complete.

Well... That's retarded, who's the f*ckwit that thought that one up?

Think i'll give Revelation disks a miss from now on and import any I want from the US, they cant be trusted anymore.

I'll probably pick up FMA if its about the same price as Manga's DVD sets.

May consider the Tsubasa set, but will likely be beyond what i'm willing to pay.

Since we're in the UK and only Manga release cheap anime, I'm betting the FMA set will be sold for a silly amount in comparison to the price it goes for in the US. And, even if it doesn't sell for a silly amount, it's a joke that it's taken this long for them to give the release date for the first box set, leaving the only option up to this point to buy 13 volumes (fat chance) or pay Funimation.

I wasn't too happy when I first learnt Funimation had split the series into 4 box sets instead of 2. For me, the point of buying box sets is to get everything in one lovely looking set; not to pay more money for as many as possible. It would've been nice if the UK release had been for 2 box sets, or even 1.

I'm hoping Manga don't copy the US box set release of Death Note. I want 1x 37; not 1x 20 + 1x 17.

Hmmm a while ago I spotted the FMA part 1+2 on amazon (as an import) and decided to wait to see if they'd come out here.

If it's a decent price I might pick it up.

I bet that Funi (and eventually Revelation) do full season sets - they're just rolling them along in as many profitable configurations as possible as long as they're selling.

Half season sets don't bother me at all so long as the price is right. FMA is a quality series that makes me laugh, cry and cheer so I see it as worth a few more pennies than something mediocre but pleasant. I was too impatient to wait for bargain bin full season sets however nice the space saving would be.

Wonder if they'll retain all the sexy booklets from the R1s? Though dropping singles mid series in favour of some repackagings screams "in trouble and in need of some fast money" like ADV's situation...hopefully I'm wrong there.

Oh wow, that's a rather sorry list.

Have you ever tried being positive for a change.
Yeah, but then I'd by lying.

OT: I've got Fullmetal already and I've got a few vols os tsubasa as well. I've been waiting for hell girl and mushishi to be completed, before I put my money on them, but now I'm not sure I can keep my hopes up =(
