Resident Evil CG anime film

Didn't see this mentioned anywhere and thought it best placed here. I'm going to quote from ANN, since i can't be bothered to type it out but:

CAPCOM and Sony Pictures Entertainment of Japan have announced on October 29 a joint project to produce Biohazard: Degeneration, a fully computer-animated film in the Biohazard horror franchise (known as Resident Evil in North America and Europe). Sony Pictures Entertainment of America has already produced live-action films based on the franchise. The computer-animated movie will be an original story. The videogame franchise established the survival horror subgenre of games and have sold 33 million copies worldwide. Each of the three live-action films have earned over 100 million dollars in worldwide box office receipts.

i thought this was quite interesting since i'm a big fan of the game series myself, the films though where a waste of time, but i'm hoping this works out well.
 
Original story? Naw, more like steal plot elements from all games, though I won't critisize it yet, I'll wait for it's release.
 
If it's at the Final Fantasy CG movie standard, I'll be waiting for this.
Well to be honest, I'll be waiting for it whether it's to that standard or not.
I loved the live-action movies of the series (of the ones I've seen), and CG films make me melt so yeah, great.

If by that you mean is it Computer Generated then yes it is. It will be intresting to see what they will do with it, though i wonder if they'll end up tieing it in to Resi 5 somehow

5? O_O Wow, I didn't know they had made so many already.

All I can remember is the first one, then Apocalypse then Extinction (which is like super new or something). What was the fourth?
 
Ah sorry about that :p I meant the fifth Resident Evil game which is due out next year i think, though speaking to the live action films aren't they suposed to be making a fourth film called Afterlife

this sounds rather good i hope it follows the games more unlike the live action..
i'm egerly awaiting the resident evil on the wii that is dur out at the end of november
 
I've completed all 9 main Resident Evil games. Guess you could say I'm addicted. Really looking forward to the next installment. Back to films though... I loved the first two movies, but I'm basing it on the love of the games. I totaly understand why so many aren't fans of the movies like.

A CGI movie sounds interesting. I would hope they put a lot of effort onto a film like that. Something like the FF films might be a little over expectant but to tell you the truth, I'm such a big fan of the games that I wouldn't care.
