I just finished watching the first episode, and from what I can tell, it's revolved around high school kids piloting huge mechs.

The animation is definitly great, seeing as how it's very new, although the storyline has yet to pick up. ;_;

Anyone else watched it? =0

Apparently it's a remake from the 1975 series, although I haven't even heard of it before.
 
Hear of the orginal, and watched what's out of the new series. Kinda lacking lots of little things, but mainly any drive forward. It's very much a monster for the day kinda show, and while there are the barest hints of a larger plot it either so blindingly obvious or so obscure you ignore it. The Fights are slow, and though probably more realistic than the mecha fights out of something like Code Geass or Eva not really that captivating. Failing majorly to live up to any potential it had.

I'm not too keen on thr CGI mech fights.

It's like they sucked what was good out of the genre. ;'/

I'm staying with Lucky Star. 8)
