Pieces (1982)A fairly standard campus slasher movie, now notorious for its awkward dubbing, oft-nonsensical plot and general absurdity. With the right audience, particularly after a couple of drinks, I think this would be a riot, but watching it alone, I didn’t quite know how to take it a lot of the time. The first half in particular is pretty rote, it’s largely just a series of kills with little to invest us in the main characters (even if the apparent chemistry between the student hero and an older lady cop is an intriguingly unusual dynamic). I did get a few laughs towards the end though, even I don’t think it’s one I’d greatly recommend.
