PS3/Wii Failure rate under 1%, while xbox 360 is 33%

Other than the PSU fire issue, the original xbox was based in standard PC technology so was pretty tough.

My 360 is pretty happy if a little noisy...

I heard it was pretty unreliable i had a couple of freinds whos xbox 360 broke down.
Plus i seem to rember a couple of threads on here asking about why there xbox 360 wouldnt work.

Mine is working fine at the moment, had it basically since it was launched so it must be my luck that it hasn't failed yet. i only had one problem with it, well not so much the 360 to a game, which basically got scratched to the point it wouldn't work.

i had one of the dreaded buggered up 360's but tbh microsoft replaced it within 3 days and not had a problem since, and didn't even cost me a penny

I got my xbox 360 the day it came out and its been running smoothly since then and still is after I sold it. Gues I was one of the lucky few

Microsoft have agreed to give Xbox 360 owners an extended three year warranty and even reimbursing people who have previously had them fixed.

Seems to be a big embaressment for Microsoft, who are willing to take a very expensive hit in order to save face.

I have a Wii =P

i take back what i said lol

my 360 is dead again :( stupid ring of death

Yep i got the rings of death too. As soon as i got a replacement i traded it in for a PS3. Besides just look at the aesthetics of the two, would you put more reliability in the pillow of the 360 or a PS3 Lean Mean Grilling Machine!

On a side note, what degrades the laser more? Regular use or using it for extended periods of time every so often? What with the Blu-Ray of the PS3 i wanna watch 2 or 3 films, would that be alright leaving it playing for what could be 6 odd hours?

Hehe sorry i'm a real worrywart when it comes to looking after electronics, especially considering the price of it i REALLY dont want to do something wrong and break it! :D

Liquid Skin, you don't need to worry too much with the PS3 as far as I'm conserned. Had a MotoStorm marathon on the PS3 once that lasted over 12 hours (including a blu-ray we watched when we'd had enough). Had no problems wots so ever. I love the PS3 XD Nearly as much as my PC.
The fact that the controlers register from such a distance. I can wash the pots in the kitchen and change the music track without walking to the front room.

Now that's cool 8)

Haha thanks a lot for the reply voddas, its good to have someone calm my paranoia.

I had a similar experience when we were walking back to my friends house, he had one of his controllers in his bag and decided to turn it on as we were walking down the street, lo and behold once we entered his room there it was on the xmb! I read somewhere that it has a 65ft range

 That is far! That's the future for you. In the end everything will be wireless. I also heard wireless electricity has already been invented though not yet suitable for personal use. Heh, you wouldn't even need to plug anything in. Just bring it in the house and turn it on! XD

Bit scary like!

Yeahhh i remember seeing something on the news about that. Give me future now!

I agree that its pretty damn scary though. I like my electricity safely enclosed in wires thank you very much, not winging around my head willy nilly. Methinks i'll take the risk of tripping over something occassionally rather than getting a couple hundred watts to the face. :D
