I wonder how many technical problems this series will have...

Unfortunately, not enough to stop a hardcore fan like me trying to pick up the series.

Still, I'm hoping that they've learned their lessons and will actually give us a good release this time. It's a bit of a joke that other less well known series can get flawless releases but a major licence that even non-anime fans will have heard of ends up having so many technical flaws.

Irresepctive of all that, this time around I'll probably just hold out for the boxset release.

I'm going to wait out for the box set as well, it'll be cheaper overall and should have any bugs that appear on the single releases fixed.

I'm just gonna go for the region 1 releases, the collectors cases look awesome and if theres a tin for the series at the end, even better.

The most I'll trust MangaUK with at the moment is a few movies.

The season 1 tin is the same for either region isn't it?

It is the region 1 tin with 15 certificate stickers stuck on.
That don't come off without leaving a mess, I might add.
Pah.

Still, I look at it as £17.99 for vol.7 and a t-shirt I really wanted with a tin thrown in.

Without giving anything away about story or character, the first episode of Second Gig relaunches SAC in grand, grand style. Different opening song (still largely in Russian, though), slightly different character design- the Major and Togusa in particular seems a lot sharper around the edges and Aramaki seems to have lost a little weight- and given that it's a Mamoru Oshii story, everything is really dimly-lit and starkly shadowed. Plus the ending made me smile, which is always nice.
