Last year, in the middle of all the hype for the first Nintendo 3DS instalments in Game Freak's <em>Pokémon</em> video game franchise, the Japanese animation company OLM, Inc (<em>Inazuma Eleven</em>, <em>Yo-Kai Watch</em>), Production I.G. (<em>Ghost in the Shell</em>) and Xebec (<em>To Love Ru</em>) collaborated to go back to the very first games in the franchise, adapting the original story of the Gameboy pair <em>Pokémon Red</em> and <em>Pokémon Green</em> into a 4-part series called <strong>Pokémon Origins</strong>.
The mini-series was made available for streaming shortly after its broadcast on Japanese TV before being released on both DVD and Blu-Ray in its native country (which was followed by a DVD release in Australia). Today though, The Pokémon Company released the entirety of the series on the iTunes digital service, with each episode being available in standard definition for £1.89 or high definition for £2.49 per episode.
