PlayUSA is back... kind of...

Just Passing Through

The Wildcard
The PlayUSA site is up and trading again.

But before you get excited and start rubbing your hands at getting those bargains in, it's just the name only.

PlayUSA is now owned by directtou, the same people who bought out DVD Pacific.

The only prices on the site are in US dollars now, and there's a $5 P&P charge going up a couple of dollars for each additional item.

The one item I was looking for was $2 more at PlayUSA than DVD Pacific. For what it's worth.

I don't recall PlayUSA being customs-friendly. This new website seems not to mention anything to suggest the store has 'improved' in such a regard.

Free shipping and prices in GBP was customs freindly.
You could see wether an item was over the limit, it's price inc. shipping that's used for customs fees, so free shipping helps a lot.

Yeah, PUSA would price a lot of stuff up @ £17.99 when they could, was often cheaper than anywhere else for stuff they forced down to that price before they stopped trading... if they were doing it for a lot of stuff after the exchange rates went bad, wouldn't be surprised if it's part of the reason they finished.

This just sounds disappointing though, unless there is some hidden benefit to ordering from here rather than DVDP.
