Play.com listing Chrono Trigger DS for £15

Haha..what the hell?

Makes sense though...Square-Enix DS games always end up in the Play bargain bin after a few weeks anyway, so they may as well just dump it in there right away.

I was getting it anyway, but I'll definitely have it at that price...unless Play "do a Play", decide they screwed up and cancel the pre-orders. >_>

I just bought Final Fantasy IV DS from Sendit for £14.

I got Final Fantasy III DS for the same price too.

As said it does seem to be a trend for Square Enix games to go into the bargain bin/mispriced (or maybe the games are just produced mega-cheaply, which I doubt). I just hope it isn't to do with poor sales.

If you happened to own a NTSC PS1 then playing this game for cheap hasn't been difficult for many years. Every month or so an auction pops up on eBay for NTSC copies of FF: Chronicles, and it holds a disc with Chrono Trigger.

Far from the best game in the universe and very, very over-rated in my holy opinion. No idea why such a short and simplistic game is regarded so highly.

Multiple endings to keep you interested? Anyway, he was talking about the DS version. I'm not sure if there is any difference in actual gameplay though.

From what i know about the DS version, there is an extra dungeon included along with a new ending. I can't remember if and/or what else there was included in it though.

The main change seems to be the translation. There's one unhappy fan on Amazon.com who gave the DS version 1/5 because the opening lines said by Chrono's mom were removed and lots of stuff was changed, such as skill and item names.

I'm guessing there's a few animated cut-scenes, a few new enemies and that's about it. I doubt it's worth upgrading if you already own the SNES/PS1 version.

Actually, there's a lot more than that. There's an extra dungeon, an extended storyline that solves some plot holes that were in Cross (albiet in a bad way according to CT fans) and a new ending, which was rather shocking in the fan community.

Also, I don't think it's overrated. Chrono Trigger is indeed one of the best RPGs and especially the best of its time. It stood out for having no random encounters, seamless transition between fighting and exploration, a good set of moves and the storyline which is cliche, but it does get interesting.

It might be simplistic, but it's fast paced and I honestly preferred that to a million set of moves that is at the touch of a button. I can honestly say it's a lot better than many modern RPGs and is overshadowed by other overrated RPGs.

Play always honour prices that aren't obvious misprices. Even if prices go up and your order hasn't been sent, it's very likely you'll receive the over-rated game.

Akira Toriyama character designs, when DBZ ruled supreme in the US so obviously having characters with a similar look in an RPG would mean mega bucks. I might get it myself though even though I have a ROM of it.
