ComiPress have posted a translated interview with Katsuhiro (AKIRA) Otomo and Joe Odagiri, director of and actor in the upcoming live action Mushishi (Bug Master) movie. The short article mostly discusses their experiences during production of the film.

Supernatural drama Mushishi is based on the award winning manga series by Yuki Urushibara (the anime, also award winning, was recently licensed by FUNimation) and Otomo's version was most recently well received during sold out screenings at the world famous Sundance Film Festival.
 
I'm glad word is a bit more positive on this movie... The live action Mushishi hasn't set the world alight but I still can't wait to see it.
 
It's certainly shaping up to being a really unusual production so I'm really looking forward to seeing it. Hopefully Otomo's eagerness to find out how well it might be received abroad may push for a speedier Western release. I'm not holding out for a cinema run or anything but a UK film festival appearance in the next few months isn't too much to hope for.
